Justin Norman Very experienced Doctors and Nursing staff. Staff very friendly and helpful. They have Volunteers willing to help navigate the center which was helpful. I see why it’s considered the best cancer center in the world. Traveling from Charlotte NC to receive the best treatment for my wife.

Rick Shaikh My dad recently passed away while under the care of MD Anderson. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer a little over a year ago and had his bladder removed, which means he needed a urostomy bag. Even though that can seriously impact someones quality of life, my dad was always in good spirits and didnt let it bother him. About a year later, a mass was discovered near his colon. The doctors and PAs at MD Anderson took a biopsy and said the results showed no cancerous cells. Turns out they didnt do the procedure correctly and only tested one side of the mass. When they took another biopsy, they discovered that it was indeed cancerous. But we lost a couple weeks in that process. If they had done their jobs correctly, they wouldve found it sooner. My dad sent multiple messages through myChart complaining of pain and asking to see the actual doctor, but was ignored and dismissed by the PA assigned to him over and over again, losing valuable time for treatment. It took over a month from the time the cancer was discovered to when he actually got an appointment to see someone, and it still wasnt the doctor. What kind of hospital would delay the treatment of cancer for that long!? Especially "the best cancer center in the world". The mass continued to cause pain and grow abnormally fast (from 4cm to 12cm in 1 week) for my dad for weeks and no one there seemed to care. He had 1 chemo treatment, which wouldve been delayed 3 weeks had it not been for my family demanding to have it moved up. Some side effects of that chemo caused him to be rushed to the ER, where they kept him overnight. They then said he needed an enema, which did nothing to help his situation because the mass was pinching his colon closed. In fact, it made everything worse because it caused serious distention in his stomach, which obviously caused even more pain, and they needed to perform an emergency colostomy to relieve the gas build up. This meant my dad now had a urostomy bag AND a colostomy bag! Pretty rare to have both. But even still, my dad remained in good spirits and even joked about it. The next morning, was when everything went to sh"t. They asked him to stand up and walk around the room, but within a minute, he collapsed. And he never got back up. My brother witnessed the whole thing. They emergency team on staff took there sweet ass time to get there, over 10 minutes!! And werent able to revive him. Again, a hospital of this caliber should have more of a sense of urgency, but they didnt care. He died on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. I saw him laying there, lifeless. It was the worst day of my life. Ill never forget it. My dad was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was an engineer by trade, but also an artist, singer, writer, handyman, car enthusiast, movie buff, and just an amazing man that the world was lucky enough to experience. MD Anderson has ads on TV and radio touting themselves as having the most compassionate staff and great communication between departments...all bullshit*t. No one knows what the other dept is doing and they must all be immune to the struggles of their patients because they just dont care. At least not enough to save their lives. And on top of all that, they charge hundreds of thousands of dollars for sub-par treatment. They need to be held accountable for their lack of care and treatment for their patients. Something needs to be done to correct this flawed healthcare system. Not just at MD but all over the country. My family is trying to help correct this system. And if anyone else out there has had a similar story, I hope that youll join us. https://patientsforchange.com/ Love you so much Dad. Miss you everyday ❤️❤️❤️

Haley Lopez Do NOT under any circumstances go to this place if you know what is good for you and your loved ones in times of need. Please. After my boyfriend tore his Achilles, I frantically searched for an ER on a Sunday morning to take him to. Google maps showed this as open and available. I parked and noticed a man in the parking lot poking at tires on a white truck I did not think anything of it at the time. I was appalled when I arrived, ran inside to find NO ONE. Not a single soul in sight, no one at the desk! I yelled “Hello?!” a bunch, walked around to see if cameras would pick me up, thinking surely someone would see me and nothing. It was empty, silent, and eerie. Then as I gave up and walked back out the way I came to the parking lot, that man was walking in. I could not tell if he worked there or not (was not wearing any credentials) so I asked “Do you work here?” He said yes... I said that I am in need of emergency services. He says “Oh we are closed, Put Memorial Hermann into your maps and go up the road.” This man had to have seen me running inside. This man could have told me “We’re closed” in the parking lot. I was in a panic and this could have greatly helped me. I’m sorry- but WHAT THE ?! If this is in fact actually closed, close your freaking doors and put closed on Google maps!!! Absolutely insane that a literal HOSPITAL with an ER is just ~closed~ when human beings expect you (of all places) to be open and ready to help a medical emergency. I do NOT want that feeling to happen to ANYONE ELSE because it was the worst possible feeling in the world. Do better and fix this.

amiri z all these bad reviews are shocking me and I hate that these women had that experience. Because my experience last fall giving birth to my first child was AMAZING. Every nurse I had was so nice and supportive I literally owe them my life. The nurse that basically delivered my baby was wonderful. She was a young black woman and she took very good care of me.

bhavik desai I had an amazing experience at St. Joseph, maternity hospital during the birth of my baby. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made us feel cared for and supported. The doctors, nurses, and everyone involved were not only professional but also incredibly kind and attentive, making my first-time delivery smooth and stress-free. The facility was clean, well-equipped, and comforting, which added to the positive experience. I’m beyond grateful for the exceptional care we received and would highly recommend this hospital to any expecting parents!

chernika lipscomb I have been a patient here for two weeks and my experience here has been phenomenal. My care team has been making sure I have everything I need. My wound care nurse Courtney made sure my wound was clean daily to be sure that it didnt become infected again. The supervisors here are also making sure the nurses are doing what theyre supposed to be doing and the nurses, for the most part, was very friendly and efficient. The staff here are friendly and attentive. I recommend this place and I give it a solid 9/10. P.S Special thanks to my nurses Ms Lenora, Ms Jasmine, and Ms Beverly who were very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed.

Julie Burlew My son had surgery at CHI Baylor St. Lukes Mc Nair campus on 9/27/24. The medical care at CHI Baylor St Lukes is excellent but the outsourced billing department boarders on unethical. We prepaid our co pay for surgery and we were charged excess of $1911.45. It was reported on My Chart a refund was due on 11/5/24. Blue Cross Blue Shield paid this claim on 10/16/24. I have spent hours on phone and multiple phone calls attempting to get a consistent answer on when I will receive my refund. I have personally gone to billing office representative at the McNair campus. I have placed a complaint at Patient Relations office. I have called the corporate outsourced billing office and still waiting for my refund check. I called the corporate Ethics line and individual took a report and told me to expect a call by January 27, 2025 . I guarantee you that if I owed this much money to CHI Baylor St. Lukes and my account was this delinquent I would have been long sent to collections long ago. It is such a shame that an organization with such outstanding medical care will not treat patients with same respect when it comes to their financial services. I doubt this review will receive a response. But if someone at CHI Baylor St Lukes reads this you can contact me at 650 773 2979.

VH I really liked my experience here while going through my health issue. My doctor (Dr. Claire Hoppenot) is very professional, and performed my surgery excellently. I like her professionalism, kindness, and calm demeanor. I came from Houston Methodist because they were price gouging the cost of the surgery so my medical cost sharing plan (Sedera) was not going to cover it, because they only cover fair pricing. Savvos, which is a company Sedera works with to find fair pricing for members, found Dr. Hoppenot and Baylor St. Lukes which offered fair pricing. I was able to get my surgery at an excellent facility that cares with an excellent doctor that cares as well. I see St. Lukes as a facility that cares now and is not part of the problem, unlike the other hospital and their price gouging.

Andres Lopez This place really is a joke. Ever since they switched to pulse, its just been down hill from there. I cant believe the Padilla family let this office get to this point. Im not even sure if they are still affiliated, but they sure like to drop the name on the website. There are better places around. The doctor talking in the background was so unprofessional. Worst experience at a doctors office i ever had.

Elyssa Diaz I was going to this clinic seeing Cassandra and Dr. Roger’s for a few years. They told me I was diabetic and had high blood pressure. When I complained about my shortness of breath and chest pains Dr. Rogers told me that it’s cause I was over weight. She dismissed me the last time I was in to see her. She told me not to be looking up my Symptoms cause I’m am not a medical professional, not knowing that I been in the medical field for 17 years! I decided to look for medical help elsewhere. Come to find out I have a stomach ulcer and my potassium was high. Both causes shortness of breath and chest pains. She did not listen to me when I knew something was wrong within my body. I did not need diabetic medication or high blood pressure medication. All she did was keep telling me to take pills. I am grateful that I finally found a doctor that would listen to me and figure out what is going on within my body! She seemed to only be seeing pts for the money. She is not in it to help patients.

The front desk staff was organized and efficient in getting me checked in, and despite the ER being busy, they kept things moving as quickly as possible. The medical team was thorough in their evaluation, ensuring received the necessary tests and treatment. The Doctor who treated me was professional, attentive, and took the time to explain my condition and treatment options. The nurses were kind and supportive, making a stressful situation more manageable. Overall, while ER visits can be long and unpredictable, I appreciate the dedication of the staff at Ben Taub. Sara Bozeman Impossible to get someone to pick up the phone. They asked for labs. I sent them and didnt hear anything for weeks. I called back. They claimed they never received them. Resent. Then they asked for records, physicians visit comments, and a physicians note. Why didnt they say that at the beginning? Why would I use the same system that didnt work the first time? Difficult to work with and they refused to schedule an appointment. No, thank you.

Kathy Goodman I recently had a colonoscopy where my pre-test results were very questionable. I was scared going in not knowing what I was facing, i found the phone staff very professional and kind. The nursing staff communicated efficiently with scheduling and got me right in due to me having to reschedule twice. - Dr. Brooks Cash could not have been more communicative and caring. It was a VERY positive experience and I would not go anywhere else in the future.
