5 /5 amiri z: all these bad reviews are shocking me and I hate that these women had that experience. Because my experience last fall giving birth to my first child was AMAZING. Every nurse I had was so nice and supportive I literally owe them my life. The nurse that basically delivered my baby was wonderful. She was a young black woman and she took very good care of me.

5 /5 bhavik desai: I had an amazing experience at St. Joseph, maternity hospital during the birth of my baby. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff made us feel cared for and supported. The doctors, nurses, and everyone involved were not only professional but also incredibly kind and attentive, making my first-time delivery smooth and stress-free. The facility was clean, well-equipped, and comforting, which added to the positive experience. I’m beyond grateful for the exceptional care we received and would highly recommend this hospital to any expecting parents!

1 /5 klarissa 3: I gave birth here in January 2023. The staff was okay but they had me wait to have my baby till the doctor was in the room. Then, the doctor yelled at me to stop screaming when I was minutes or seconds away from having my baby. I wanted to give birth on my hands and knees because that is proven to be a better position to give birth in than lying on your back. Nurse said no. Honestly, looking back I shouldn’t have listened. Also, pretty sure one of the nurses took my baby at night and fed him formula when I specially said I was breastfeeding only. It was some middle aged white woman. I wouldn’t recommend giving birth here.

1 /5 Lynda Salinas: I am deeply saddened as I write this review due to how excited I was to have my baby here. This is the exact hospital I was born at as well as where I had my first born but boy how times have definitely changed and I’m assuming a lot has to do with the hospital being bought out and under new management. I was please with the clinic as Ms. Sandra always made me feel heard and comforted but come down to the actual hospital and you can just forget about it. I was sent home twice this week even though I was having severe cold and flu symptoms at 37 weeks of which weren’t getting any better with their recommendations, I was even sent home one time with absolutely no medication administered to at least try to help alleviate some of the horrible aches and pains I was in. I finally came in after completely passing out and fainting at home which I knew couldn’t be good for baby this far along as I stated I’m literally already 37 weeks. It took for me to get to that point and have difficulty with my breathing for them to finally admit me and get my C-section pushed up from Monday to today being Friday and here I am feeling dizzy, weak, nauseous, and with an excruciating headache all because I was placed on NPO after midnight since supposedly the surgery was scheduled for this morning originally at 10-10:30 then they said possibly around 11 or 12 and now they don’t have a time because apparently they don’t have enough staffing. Mind you my husband and I already made a payment as that’s the first thing they definitely did was contact me to let me know what my out of pocket cost would be, I wish I would’ve just listened to my brother and gone to TX Children’s like he did to have his baby. I did not know how horrible St Joseph has become and I’m extremely disappointed among other feelings of discomfort from being at this place and now literally just found out my surgery has been moved to tomorrow. Beyond over this place!

2 /5 Shermona Harvey: I had my baby here Oct 2023 because my amazing Doctor Cadambi delivers here. But I wish it could have been elsewhere. The nurses on the Labor & Delivery floor are rude & careless, specifically nurse Michelle who basically argued with my baby’s dad over his concerns/questions on why a machine kept beeping saying there were bubbles in my IV. Nurse Mae who immediately started her shift & checked my cervix against my doctor’s wishes (bc she was on her way) and who was rude to my doctor and me. How are you checking my cervix when my doctor was on the way to do so, yet I’m on bloodied bedding and in pain? That should be your priority as a nurse. She made me so uncomfortable and said “if you don’t dilate completely in the next two hours you’re getting a c-section and it is what what it is” after me expressing being nervous about having my first child via C-section. She also asked if my child’s father was my dad, which I felt was a silly question. I was so fed up that I called the charge nurse to replace my care team. The nurse Ashley (I forget the other) immediately came in and showed care and concern. They changed my bedding which hadn’t been done in hours. And suggested some other positions to induce dilation since I’d been at 4 cm for 15 hrs or so and couldn’t move much since I had already received and epidural. The overnight Nurse Ariel, I must add was also very sweet and I was hoping to have my baby on her shift. Once I had my baby and was moved upstairs to the postpartum floor I was treated much better. My only complaint there is I had my baby at noon and he didnt get to my room until 5pm, even with my mom and the father being there. It really annoys me to this day that we were separated for so long. Moments that can never be replaced. If I can help it I won’t have any further babies here.
