1 /5 Anna Anderson: Do not go here. My dads appt was at 8:30, and the doctor didnt even get to the office until 9. My 76 year old father has a large open wound on his arm. When we finally got to the room, the nurse removed the bandage and applied a topical ointment then covered it with gauze. When I expressed concern that the plain gauze would stick while we were waiting, she hastily removed it. The nurse and a tech person then discussed the new tech system for about 10 minutes in our exam room, and no one said one word to us. We were then left in the room for another 10 m with nothing covering his wound. No one really listened to him. At one point, the nurse left the room in the middle of him explaining what caused his fall that led to the wound. The whole thing was very unpleasant and gave me absolutely no confidence that they knew what they were doing. The doctor was dismissive of my concerns for my dad. When we had to change the bandage at home, it was stuck to the wound and was very painful to remove. This is what I had tried to explain to the doctor (based on the first time we had tried the method she was using), but was dismissed. When I asked her if what she was using was the same as "Xero gauze", she took out her phone and googled "Xero gauze" and showed me that nothing was coming up and she had no idea what I was talking about. Turns out I wasnt saying it exactly right - its xero form gauze. For the record, if you google Xero gauze, Xero FORM gauze is the first thing that comes up. She knew exactly what I was asking. The only staff member that was kind and helpful was the woman at the front desk. Nothing about the appt was helpful and we will be cancelling our follow up appt.
