Great fishing pier, docks, boat launch into Lake Arrowhead, challenging Disc Golf Course, Equestrian arena with optional camping for traveling with horse trailer, many trails non difficult and easy to enjoy the Nature that inhabits the Park. Did I mention the darkest skies to enjoy the Texas Stars!! Smaller yes with the bonus of quiet camping and relaxing Texas hospitality especially winter camping!! Something so Texas about having an oil hit and miss engine softly whispering its tune!!

3 /5 Kaitlin B: If you like Disc Golf, then this is the Texas State Park for you. It has a full course. I appreciate that this park has a relatively long trail, where you walk there and back. However, that course borders the trail for most of its length. Therefore, I felt like I was at a Disc Golf course and not a state park. There were no players when we went, but youd have to keep an eye on them if there were, to ensure you arent hit by a Frisbee. The park is also very flat, but you should expect this, based on the part of Texas youre in. The spring blossoms were nice. This state park is a good resource for those who live nearby. However, it was just okay for me. Its not a State Park that I plan on revisiting and would not recommend for hiking or a pretty view.

5 /5 Sarah Fleener: The park was quiet. It felt like we were the only ones there. We heard coyotes cutting up all night and into the early morning. We were awakened by a mockingbird singing its heart out. We saw armadillos and rabbits too. Restrooms were clean, showers had plenty of hot water. Beautiful place!

5 /5 CHAOSNCHECK T: This is a very nice park. We really liked the layout - basically a bunch of small circles with 6-8 sites in each circle. We visited one bathhouse near our site and there were two toilets, two sinks and two showers. Picnic table has a nice overhead cover and there was a fire pit. Short walk to the marina area - we visited during the week and the Park was almost deserted. We are not Texas residents, but as a Veteran I was able to get a nice deal on a permanent Texas State Park Pass. I am also disabled but to get the discount, you need to show a disabled license plate, have it reflected on your drivers license or have a copy of your disability letter. The Ranger we interacted with was professional, very knowledgable about the area gave us some good tips. This could be considered a DARK PARK, there are no lights anywhere in the Park except at the bathhouses (this is in the campground area). They do warn of snakes and yep, we saw one as I left the bathhouse. Keep your best friend on a leash and close by. We camped at Lake Arrowhead State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wonderland Amusement Park - Amarillo

S. Donaldson: This is a wonderful park for first time kiddos wanting to experience roller coasters most larger rides require 48inches and only 2 rides require 50 inches. Great place for under the 48inches too ! Small enough to get the kids interested and be able to watch them have fun and enough rides for adults to enjoy. The water slides will result in a wet ending but not bad on warm enough days, be sure to dress in dark colored bottoms!! The lines were pretty short while we were there, this created time to ride multiple times while not being rushed to get to another! The Texas Twister was a hit for us! Although be sure to be a people person and invite others to ride, due to the ride must have a minimum of 18 riders to function for safety reasons! There were a few rides that were down but all the employees and especially the maintenance men were friendly and shared how the park is coming along for future events! The price was higher than most smaller parks but I also understand the importance of them raising funds due to low volume and maintenance needed! There are options for all day passes as well as tickets for certain rides and times! I look forward to seeing them make upgrades to the park and adding the special touches in the future! Since this park has history it will always draw a crowd. We easily spent the whole day there and will be back again! Cash was not permitted at this park at the time we were there.

MERUS Adventure Park - Claude

Michael Richter: Wow, just wow, cant describe in words, pictures wont and cant do this place justice. If you are on the fence, just go, whether you are a pro at offroading or a beginner. Ive been to Moab in Utah and still took the beginner course here it was a great deal of fun. The trail guides are fun engaging, and the day was I am already planning my next trip this time camping and some more wheeling. Just pull the trigger and go you wont regret it.

Cadillac Ranch - Amarillo

Jason Dobbs: Really cool spot if you’re passing through the area worth a little bit of a detour spent about 30 minutes there taking photos. Somebody puts paint cans out so you can spray paint your own stuff on there which seems like a lot of fun. I didn’t do that cause I didn’t wanna get any pain on my hands When we were there. It was about 10 other people 15 other people, but it wasn’t too difficult to take photos making it look like you were all by yourself there that classic influencer style photo was a great little detour and a lot of fun pictures.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park -

K9 Life Coach Scott: Beautiful canyon, with lots of talks and camping. I didnt get to camp. You can spend all day doing whatever. Im sure this place gets really busy, so be aware. Los of camping options, with clamping and camping. Bird watching. Good "Trading Post". Look for the Indigenous History there. Its important to understand that this is Kiowa and Comanche homelands. Why it was taken and how it happened. Its important to them. They do talks as well there.

Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch State Historic Site - Clarendon

Cameron Hall: We stopped here for about 90 minutes to break up a drive from DFW to the Oklahoma panhandle. Everyone in my family (2 adults and 2 boys (8 and 12)) loved the tour and history. Such a great part of TX and western history and everything is so well preserved and recreated. I would highly recommend.

Patriot Peace Garden - Panhandle

Dane Ward: This is one of my favorite little known highway roadside spots near Amarillo to bring friends. Everyone has heard of Cadillac Ranch, but not many are aware that on the opposite outskirts of Amarillo along I40 is a roadside monument with so much more meaning to it than a bunch of old cars artfully sticking out of the ground. Sometimes Ill even just come out here by myself with my guitar and play a few songs in tribute to the message this monument conveys. One day Id enjoy the opportunity to personally thank the man who had it built, and whos land it sits on... Richard Daniel Baker. Hes a local icon as far as Im concerned. ❤️

Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum - Canyon

Trina Stephenson: Amazing History Museum across many disciplines. Geology, art, paleontology, history, and interesting special collections of textiles, guns, cars and the history of oil exploration. Very educational and you can easily spend a day or two here. I liked the fact that they had a STEAM education area, not STEM. Arts are necessary! Also, there is a great art collection here.

Amarillo Zoo - Amarillo

jessica fuentes: Pretty small but fun to walk around. Took an hour or so to see the whole zoo. Cant beat it for the price though. 7.50 an adult
