5 /5 Cameron Hall: We stopped here for about 90 minutes to break up a drive from DFW to the Oklahoma panhandle. Everyone in my family (2 adults and 2 boys (8 and 12)) loved the tour and history. Such a great part of TX and western history and everything is so well preserved and recreated. I would highly recommend.

5 /5 Dian Carpenter: I love this place and the story behind the ranch! The entire staff were so friendly and accommodating. The young lady that checked us in was so sweet. It is kept neat and orderly. Wonderfull gallery filled with information on the Goodnights. We took the tour of their home and the guide was also delightful. The home is beautiful with nicely groomed grounds. If you love history this place is for you. Thanks to all!

5 /5 Tracy Torbett: Visited 8/2/24 on a Friday afternoon. Worth the visit!! Very interesting tour. NOTE- VISITORS CENTER WHERE YOU BUY TICKETS IS NOW RIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE GREEN METAL BUILDING THAT USED TO BE A HARDWARE STORE! Free gravel parking at the new visitor center and level paved parking at the old visitor center. The bison that are descended from the ones Mrs Goodnight saved are in the pasture beside the new visitor center. Tours are at 11:00, 1:00, 3:00 only. The tour is so interesting and the house well preserved. *Not recommended for those with disabilities*-There are stairs to get into the house and steep stairs to climb in the house on the tour. The grounds are well kept and easy to walk around. After the tour, you can easily visit the Goodnight’s graves across the highway in Goodnight cemetery where the views are endless. Highly recommend doing both.

4 /5 Laura Eastman: Nice museum/ information center about the Goodnights. I was wanting to take the tour of the house, but I could not because of Summer Camp activities( and I could not wait til later afternoon to do it ). I will try to return someday to make the tour. The volunteers are very nice and helpful. GREAT bathrooms.

3 /5 Casey: 3 stars is because I wasnt able to take the tour as they were cancelled because of heating issues. There was no social media post of the issue, which I rely on to provide information. Also, multiple restroom stalls were out of order. Otherwise, this place is immaculate and you will definitely learn something you didnt know. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. There are 3 bison adjacent to the property that are descendants of the original Goodnight herd.

Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum - Canyon

Trina Stephenson: Amazing History Museum across many disciplines. Geology, art, paleontology, history, and interesting special collections of textiles, guns, cars and the history of oil exploration. Very educational and you can easily spend a day or two here. I liked the fact that they had a STEAM education area, not STEM. Arts are necessary! Also, there is a great art collection here.

Amarillo Zoo - Amarillo

jessica fuentes: Pretty small but fun to walk around. Took an hour or so to see the whole zoo. Cant beat it for the price though. 7.50 an adult

Beistle Liam C J (Dr.): We had an awesome time at the annual Goodnight Chuck Wagon Cook Off in Clarendon Texas. Family fun at its finest. Each year third Saturday of September get your meal tickets reserved as the sell out each year. Ticket sales start first of September each year.

Thompson Memorial Park - Amarillo

Terrin Dugan: Amazing park, always fun to come by. Large park with lots of green areas and lots to do. Lots of trees and shade and the grass is very green! Its also very clean and well maintained. Picnic tables and paved trails all throughout the park. Theres a couple of playgrounds, including a really neat pirate ship themed one, but that one is usually packed. Theres a pretty large dog park in it too. Theres a lake with a walking trail and benches around it. And of course, theres the zoo attached! You can see into the zoo from the outside at different parts of the park. I was able to see a fox and a camel from outside the zoo. Very comfortable place. Overall, its a great park that me and my kids!

Longhorn Museum - Pleasanton

Steven Erkman: We were passing by this town on the way to San Antonio and decided to stop by the Longhorn Museum. It was free with obviously a donation box and it was definitely worth the stop. For a small town museum it was packed with artifacts, old fashioned exhibits, and history. The new windmill exhibit was open and it was nice. We spent about 45 minutes here. You could see it all faster or you could read about everything and stay much longer.

Newman’s Castle - Bellville

Rana El-Zughbi: Newman’s Castle in Bellville, Texas is such a unique and fun experience! The castle is full of character, with many different rooms to explore—each with its own style and charm. My favorite part was climbing all the way to the top and ringing the huge bell! It was such a cool moment. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Just a tip: make your reservation online in advance—they close early and spots can fill up fast. Plan ahead and stop by the bakery in town before heading to the castle; it’s a nice bonus to the trip. The castle sits on a hill, and you’ll park your car under the trees. Wear something comfy—you’ll be walking on dirt paths and stones. Overall, it was a wonderful outing and a great spot to visit with family or friends, with plenty of nearby places in town to explore afterward.

M: Wonderfully cared for museum with people there having a deep historical knowledge of it. This was one of my historical day rides on my motorcycle and Im glad I made the trip!
