5 /5 Michael Richter: Wow, just wow, cant describe in words, pictures wont and cant do this place justice. If you are on the fence, just go, whether you are a pro at offroading or a beginner. Ive been to Moab in Utah and still took the beginner course here it was a great deal of fun. The trail guides are fun engaging, and the day was I am already planning my next trip this time camping and some more wheeling. Just pull the trigger and go you wont regret it.

4 /5 Scott Cronister: Loved the park and the staff was awesome. They do need to add gravel to the entrance for RVs and tow vehicles as it was very muddy and rutted. My only other frustration was the camp sites are not well marked, but we figured it out. Absolutely awesome trails and views! Be prepared for severe thunderstorms in spring! We will be back...

5 /5 John Hudson: Went with a buddy for the weekend for some off roading. Did not expect much but off Roading trails, but was very pleasantly surprised. This place is legit nice! Staff were unbelievable! All the cabins have un believable views of the canyon. The trails are well mapped out and color-coded for difficulty. We did not hike or bike, but there was tons of trails for that as well. Couldnt believe how nice the cabin were. We was not expecting much. knew it did not have a bathroom or shower. You have to go to the main area for that but not far and well lit mowed paths. Beautiful deck with deck furniture looking out to the canyon. Also great air-conditioning. No TV which is good for a weekend! There is a great common area where they are building a semi-outdoor bar which will make it even better. I will be back with my wife who loves to hike and mountain bike! Awesome experience! Highly recommend it.

5 /5 Johnny Davidson: Merus is an amazing place and my wife and I will definitely be returning! We stayed at a "premium" camping site. There are two things that are premium about this campsite: the wood platform and especially the view! Note that there is no power, water, toilet, or trash bin. Also be aware that wind speeds can be very severe. Our tent was broken by the winds by night number 2 and we had to leave early. On our way out we saw several other tents that had been damaged too. Every trail we took was amazing! Even blue trails could be challenging if you have a long wheelbase truck (we used a Jeep so not that long). No matter what trail you choose the sights will be fantastic. We finished on a black diamond trail and it definitely earned that rating! So glad we were not alone on that one! Basically we will be back to explore more trails, but maybe stay in a cabin or at a campsite down in the canyon.

Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch State Historic Site - Clarendon

Cameron Hall: We stopped here for about 90 minutes to break up a drive from DFW to the Oklahoma panhandle. Everyone in my family (2 adults and 2 boys (8 and 12)) loved the tour and history. Such a great part of TX and western history and everything is so well preserved and recreated. I would highly recommend.

Patriot Peace Garden - Panhandle

Dane Ward: This is one of my favorite little known highway roadside spots near Amarillo to bring friends. Everyone has heard of Cadillac Ranch, but not many are aware that on the opposite outskirts of Amarillo along I40 is a roadside monument with so much more meaning to it than a bunch of old cars artfully sticking out of the ground. Sometimes Ill even just come out here by myself with my guitar and play a few songs in tribute to the message this monument conveys. One day Id enjoy the opportunity to personally thank the man who had it built, and whos land it sits on... Richard Daniel Baker. Hes a local icon as far as Im concerned. ❤️

Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum - Canyon

Trina Stephenson: Amazing History Museum across many disciplines. Geology, art, paleontology, history, and interesting special collections of textiles, guns, cars and the history of oil exploration. Very educational and you can easily spend a day or two here. I liked the fact that they had a STEAM education area, not STEM. Arts are necessary! Also, there is a great art collection here.

Amarillo Zoo - Amarillo

jessica fuentes: Pretty small but fun to walk around. Took an hour or so to see the whole zoo. Cant beat it for the price though. 7.50 an adult

Beistle Liam C J (Dr.): We had an awesome time at the annual Goodnight Chuck Wagon Cook Off in Clarendon Texas. Family fun at its finest. Each year third Saturday of September get your meal tickets reserved as the sell out each year. Ticket sales start first of September each year.

Thompson Memorial Park - Amarillo

Terrin Dugan: Amazing park, always fun to come by. Large park with lots of green areas and lots to do. Lots of trees and shade and the grass is very green! Its also very clean and well maintained. Picnic tables and paved trails all throughout the park. Theres a couple of playgrounds, including a really neat pirate ship themed one, but that one is usually packed. Theres a pretty large dog park in it too. Theres a lake with a walking trail and benches around it. And of course, theres the zoo attached! You can see into the zoo from the outside at different parts of the park. I was able to see a fox and a camel from outside the zoo. Very comfortable place. Overall, its a great park that me and my kids!

Longhorn Museum - Pleasanton

Steven Erkman: We were passing by this town on the way to San Antonio and decided to stop by the Longhorn Museum. It was free with obviously a donation box and it was definitely worth the stop. For a small town museum it was packed with artifacts, old fashioned exhibits, and history. The new windmill exhibit was open and it was nice. We spent about 45 minutes here. You could see it all faster or you could read about everything and stay much longer.

Newman’s Castle - Bellville

Rana El-Zughbi: Newman’s Castle in Bellville, Texas is such a unique and fun experience! The castle is full of character, with many different rooms to explore—each with its own style and charm. My favorite part was climbing all the way to the top and ringing the huge bell! It was such a cool moment. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Just a tip: make your reservation online in advance—they close early and spots can fill up fast. Plan ahead and stop by the bakery in town before heading to the castle; it’s a nice bonus to the trip. The castle sits on a hill, and you’ll park your car under the trees. Wear something comfy—you’ll be walking on dirt paths and stones. Overall, it was a wonderful outing and a great spot to visit with family or friends, with plenty of nearby places in town to explore afterward.
