5 /5 K9 Life Coach Scott: Beautiful canyon, with lots of talks and camping. I didnt get to camp. You can spend all day doing whatever. Im sure this place gets really busy, so be aware. Los of camping options, with clamping and camping. Bird watching. Good "Trading Post". Look for the Indigenous History there. Its important to understand that this is Kiowa and Comanche homelands. Why it was taken and how it happened. Its important to them. They do talks as well there.

5 /5 B P: An absolute gem of a park! Lots of options for hikes and different sites, plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, and a haven for bikers! Would highly recommend the Gibbons Spice and Lowry Hike if you are making a trip to the Lighthouse site. Some underrated hikes I loved were the Upper Comanche and the northern morn most part of the hike; spectacular views and plenty of places to relax and chill. The only thing I would recommend is to remodel the canopy’s in the campsites, most of the wood from ours were missing planks. Other than that, I would highly recommend coming during early spring and late autumn if you want to be comfortable with the hikes.

5 /5 D Bayone: Very beautiful park and canyon! All of the trails were closed because of recent rains and heavy flooding but the drive down into the canyon and around the canyon floor is worth the park fee. Beautiful views but be careful going down into the canyon as the grade is 10% and the road curves very sharply as you descend. They had a couple of gift shops and several campgrounds with electric and water hookups and several restrooms. We saw a roadrunner and a wild turkey while we were down there. We were just visiting the Amarillo area and this state park was so worth the visit.

5 /5 Vy T. Zunker: Palo Duro State Park offers a great trail system with well-marked and easy-to-navigate paths, making it accessible for hikers of all experience levels. When I visited, the park was moderately busy, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. It had recently rained heavily, yet all the trails were open and in surprisingly good condition, with minimal mud or washouts. The landscape is stunning, with colorful canyon walls and unique rock formations throughout. Whether you’re passing through or planning a longer stay, this park is definitely worth a visit.

5 /5 Danyelle Warner: AMAZING Canyon with excellent Visitors Center & gift shop! Heavy rainfall meant the trails were closed; check their website for alerts before you go. We were able to drive through the park, stop at the Canyon overlook, see the amphitheater and visit the Trading Post Cafe. This is a stop you DO NOT want to miss if you are in the area.
