5 /5 Mayne McMahan: They did a wonderful job with this park! Perfectly located on the east side of New Braunfels, with an elevated view of the city, and the hill country in the background. Great facilities, clean bathrooms, splash area for the kids, lots of shade. Large, paved walkways and trails. And beautifully landscaped with indigenous plant and tree species in abundance! Multiple entrances. There is also a nature center located within the park. All of this built around a large water tank/pond. I used to fish this tank when I was young, long before it was transformed into this nice oasis on the edge of town.

5 /5 Anna H: This is an amazing playground suited for kids of all ages. They have pavilions you can rent, two different play sets for different age kids, swings, a rope jungle gym, a see saw and even a giant splash pad that is perfect for summertime. The restrooms are nice too.

McKenna Childrens Museum - New Braunfels

Lynn Davies: Absolutely love this place! I would say the inside museum area appeals to 2-8 year olds but the outdoor water play area keeps even tweens happy with the different models they can build. Bring extra change of clothes as kids can get pretty wet! Lots of shade for parents to be in outside:)

Cypress Bend Park - New Braunfels

Rick Martineau: Found our way to this park for a work event. That was to support NATCC. The ISA event, went off without a hitch and was an amazing event to be a part of. NBFD staff that were there to assist were awesome.

M Miranda: Yes! It costs money, but its worth noting they have people to help. Life guards and life jackets in case you need them. Ample parking for a price and tube rentals all around.

ELM: Looking for something to do on a Tuesday afternoon, we chanced upon this museum. It is interesting to get insights into the influence of German immigrants on the furniture trade in New Braunfels. Some of the craftsmanship was truly impressive. The facility is only open from 1-4 pm, so you will need to plan.

Founders Oak - New Braunfels

Donny Hacker: I wanted to check this out because of my German heritage. Tree is located in a really nice park and there is even a little train that runs through the area you can ride on. Its nice to see how long the tree has been here and the efforts taken to support parts of it to keep it healthy. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area.

New Braunfels Fire Museum - New Braunfels

Nathaly Rivera: I recently took my family to the Fire Fighter Museum in New Braunfels, TX, and we had an amazing time. Craig and Dawson were absolutely fantastic — they took the time to answer all of my son’s questions, and their knowledge and friendliness made the experience even better. We learned so much from them. The museum’s collection of antique fire trucks and old firefighter equipment was fascinating, and after seeing it all, I have an even greater admiration for the sacrifices and dedication of those in this honorable profession. I highly recommend taking the time to visit these New Braunfels heroes. The best part? It’s free!

This charming little town is full of character, with quaint shops, rich Texas history, and a laid-back vibe that makes for a perfect day trip. A highlight is Gruene Hall, the oldest dance hall in Texas — it’s not just historic, it’s legendary, having played a key role in launching George Strait’s career. There are plenty of great food options throughout the district, and we chose to dine at the Grist Mill Restaurant, which was lovely — delicious food with a beautiful setting. We also stumbled upon the cutest putt-putt course we’ve ever seen, adding a fun and unexpected twist to our visit. Whether you’re into music, history, food, or shopping, Gruene has something special to offer. Don’t miss this unique and vibrant spot — it’s truly a Texas treasure.

Fischer Park Nature Education Center - New Braunfels

eddie gramma: I love this place... Im a grown man so Im not there to enjoy the splash pad but I am there to walk my doggo and Fischer Park had everything needed for a good walk. There is some coverage, some grass, some wild flowers, a few "off the beaten path" spots, drinking fountains, and garbage cans. For families out is great, rent a pavilion , take the kids to the splash pad or playground and enjoy. All super close to everything but far enough away to feel serine and separate.

Historic Old Town NB - New Braunfels

Tiffany A: My cousin had her baby shower here recently. It was a beautiful antique style venue that included a full kitchen. They do require cleanup at the end but I was told the rental price was not bad. My kids enjoyed looking at all the old antiques.
