Jennifer Hernandez I was referred to Cortez Automotive by the dealership I bought my car from. I own a 2019 Nissan Altima and I was having trouble with acceleration. I paid 2 mechanics prior to him to 1. Replaced the mass air flow sensor (but they did not clean the throttle body or reprogram) 2. Mechanic just put it on the computer and told me that it was the mass air flow sensor even though I had already replaced it. I am so thankful I reached out to the dealership and they referred me to Mr. Cortez. He found a leak from my transmission and replaced the seal, cleaned, and refilled the oil. Cleaned the throttle body and reprogrammed the car. My car now runs smooth without hesitation! His whole team were very respectful and knowledgeable and Mr. Cortez walked me through the whole process sending me pictures and calling me with updates! I will definitely be recommending him to others.

MarioBass420 My truck recently shutdown and i didnt know anyone in the McAllen area. I live in Brownsville and I had to get a move on so i looked up any mechanics near me and found Gonzalez Auto Shop. luckily me i called and they were open and they did me a solid favor to go pick up my truck and fix it in their shop. They are not cheap but worth the price you cant go wrong with a good mechanic! Highly recommend!!

martha perez I’d give 0 stars if possible. For an installation of a hose, we were charged $650!! Crazy prices, he just tries taking your money. No official warranty/receipt. Not professional and rude, stated that we did not know about mechanics justifying his actions. AND to top it off, he claims “Cash only” and did not notify before service. Also did not give estimate beforehand of how much the service would be.

Lizett Camacho Took my car in for electric repair, they said wires were burnt charger me $350 a month later my car stopped turning on, took it back same thing, this time I paid $400. 2 months later and it’s happening again, now this time the A/C went out, my battery dies constantly bought a new battery. issue still happening. Took it to another place, they said wires were busted and burnt, causing the alternator to mess up. Paid $750 for nothing!! Don’t go here! Stay away!

From my perspective, the positive reviews are justified and this business basically defines competence. They had the car back to us on same day at a fair price and we will definitely return for any problem, large or small, should the need arise.

Heaven Richey My brother and I bought a beat up van to travel in. And live in currently. We had the breaks checked out and they got the parts ordered and sent to them within an hour, very kind small business. Very helpful and very affordable. Never had a mechanic shop be as understanding and kind. If we could rate them 10 stars we would. Best place to go when you need good work done. They explained everything going on with our van and in understanding terms for people whom aren’t car nerds. And also helped unbolt our seats we needed out.

sergio segovia About my daughter a BMW 135i not knowing anything about Euro cars it had some issues. I took it to BM out of works and they did quite some work to it alignments suspension parts sensors. They got it working right. Since then Ive been back twice for oil changes and brakes. Great place friendly staff

Violetta Serenko So my car broke down on a road and I had to leave it on the parking lot when I called Julio and explained him the situation he reacted really quick and even picked up my car the same day which I was really surprised, also he told me what was wrong with it in no time. They let me keep my car in the shop for a day until I decide what I want to do with it also which means a lot. I never went to mechanic in my life and I’m not from here so I had a lot of questions and Mr. Julio was really patient with me and explained everything I needed. Mike P IT’S THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MATTER!! I have a 5.4 3v F-150 took it in for timing set swap, and when I called JR he took his time talking to me and making me feel confident he’s is the right mechanic for the job! (~ $1,100 in parts alone I better trust the mechanic before I take it in!) So I said let’s do it! He told me to bring it in next week because he was packed with other cars and let me tell you he was worth the WAIT!! I told him to send me pictures of the inside of the engine to see wear and tear and he did! I told him to keep the box’s of the used parts ..he did! I told him to keep me updated with more pics after..he did! The guy even went above and beyond by cleaning and painting my valve covers and engine front face!?!?? Who the hell ever did that for a customer?? I didn’t even ask for that but he did it! 5 stars brotha hands down!! He has all the experience and tools don’t question it and go with your friends cousin that charges less, get it done right the first time!

The owner couldn’t even explain what happen or tell me what part it was?? And it was their work order. They have no regard to the client or respect. But they take the money.
