The Best 19 Hair Salon in McKinney, Collin Country

Katie This salon is charming and the stylists are amazing!! Its location is fabulous in downtown McKinney, close enough to grab a bite or drink with your new fabulous hair but not so close you cant find parking for your appointment. Ive never left unhappy with my hair but I know if I didnt love something that if I just told the stylist it would get fixed straight away! They even have a lash artist, I havent done mine yet, but have a friend that gets hers done here and they always look great! Check them out and you wont be disappointed. Just remember good things arent cheap and cheap things arent good, but the pricing isnt outrageous, its on par for the area!!

Kara Dickson Adorable salon! Shannon has created a welcoming and relaxing environment. Always happy with my haircuts. Shannon has great hair ideas and is always willing to take the time to listen to you.

Mona Bates I love this salon! I get my hair done with Shannon and shes fabulous! She also has a massage therapist and an eyelash/aesthetician in the salon. I love getting to know them all. Right in downtown McKinney. Once youre looking fabulous, you can head to the square for some shopping straight from her parking lot.

Bruce and Ginger Beasley I went to Odd Duck Barbershop for a beard and mustache trim in a unique situation. Eric Knight, the owner of his shop, was fabulous! The building was easy to find, and although there is construction on an adjoining lot, we were able to find parking. There is an elevator up to the second floor, and in, "Salons by JC McKinney," after you go into the main lobby, the suites are numbered well with big frosted barn doors designating each space. Eric was able to work with me on how much of my beard needed to be taken off, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. {Edit: After finding out Eric is very gifted as a barber, but also a musician, it seemed an affront to put a Creative in such a narrow box. It is always fun to see the gifts people have been blessed with to share with others, especially when they have the social skills he does. His workspace also shares his cool, outside the box vibe.} I have rarely let anyone cut my beard, but Eric immediately put me at ease with the questions he asked. We are older, but we are sure Eric can find a connection with anyone, regardless of age. We look forward to the next appointment for a haircut, and more conversation. Give him a call, prices are very reasonable as well.

Kacey C I have been seeing Chelsea for a while now and she has been on my hair journey from so many different colors: warm blonde, purple, lavender, icy blonde, and now a beautiful copper. When I first came to Chelsea, I had come with hair that had been botched in terms of performance on a fashion color. I grew up in salons and having my hair done, so coming to Austin I was shocked to find that so many places provided sub-par services and charged out the wazoo for them. And, when complaining, would not fix the issue. To say I came to Chelsea scared, a bit skeptical, and nervous is an understatement. To say I left the appointment with a re-found confidence, happiness, and a pep in my step is also an understatement! Chelsea is wonderful and such a master when it comes to hair. She is blunt (which I appreciate) and honest about what is required on the hair journey. Whenever I have had questions, she has been so patient to answer them! When I have shown her pictures of ideas I have, she has delivered and then some. Her prices are 100% absolutely fair, especially considering the quality you earn from it (and how other places will charge similar if not more for botched hair). You pay for: gorgeous hair, a cut which suits your natural texture, highlights with respect to the health and vitality of the hair, her master color knowledge, and her excellent supplies (I love that she showed me Formula 18! I am a convert~!). What I also love about Chelsea is her honesty--when I have asked her for certain ideas or styles, she is transparent in whether or not she can do so AND she will recommend someone who can. So, not only is she a master, but she is honest and ready to uplift the other hair artists around her. My hair journey has been such an uplifting one with her. Never before did I take the leap of faith to do fashion colors like Lavender. But with her I took that leap and am so happy I did. She truly knows how to make hair beautiful and dimensional. AND, when she does fashion colors, you actually look as though you were born with that color. It might seem weird to say you can look like you *naturally* have lavender hair but let Chelsea show you it can be a reality! All this to say, outside of feeling transformed, Chelsea is excellent company. Every appointment flies by and I always look forward to seeing her. I am honored to say she isnt just a wonderful stylist in my life but also a very treasured friend. I am so in love with her work that, since moving out of Austin, I told her I would make the drive ANY time to come and get my hair done by her. Shoot, I dont even care if it is Dallas or even further. If she was in another state I would fly, drive, do whatever I needed to receive her upstanding service!

Joe and Kylie Lehocky Regency is the best hair stylist I have ever been to! Hands down. It always makes me so nervous switching hair stylists, and I never found one that really understood what I was wanting. I found Regency, and there is no going back to anyone else. She took the time to understand what I was looking for, asked all of the questions, and made me feel so comfortable. From day one, I was hooked. She did an AMAZING job! Now, after a year or two, I trust her enough to say “just do what you think looks good”. She never disappoints. The reason I made the switch was for her extension skills. I went to someone else, and they were so overpriced, and took forever. Regency gets you in and out quick, with the results that lasted so long! If anyone wants hair extensions, don’t waste time and money going anywhere else. Regency is your girl. Lastly, she is just so fun to be around. She is HILARIOUS, and we always have a good time when she does my hair. If you’re in the market for a great colorist, flawless extensions, and maximum confidence when you walk out of the salon, pick Regency.

Kaitlin Stewart I found Regency last year after trying 2 other hair stylists that either barely highlighted my hair or fried my hair. I had a hard time finding a good hair stylist that could do blondes but also cut (well) a short hair style. Regency is so good with blondes and the cut that I like and I am so happy to have found her! Shes also extremely nice and fairly priced. I get my hair done every 6-7 weeks and I always enjoy the time in her space and am very happy with the end product each time!

Patricia Herrera I can’t say enough about Regency. She is very knowledgeable with color which is my main service. I’m usually blonde but she took me to a Cowboy copper at one point and it was beautiful. She just understands color very well. Her ability to listen to my wants and give feedback matters to me. I’m not looking for a “yes” hairdresser but someone who can give me their opinion and also understand what I’m looking for at the same time. She’s super personable. I enjoy talking to her every time. You can tell she just loves people. You get what pay for and to me, it’s worth it.

Lisa Taylor I’ve been going to Regency for years. She uses only the best and healthiest products. She does my blonde highlights and cut. Gorgeous highlights that look natural. I’d also mention that she’s great at haircuts as well. Often I’ve found colorist who aren’t good at cuts and vice versa but she’s great at both. She takes her time and I always love my hair afterwards!! I know it can be scary to go to someone new for your hair, but with Regency you are in excellent, professional hands.

Rachel Denton Erika is the only person I have been completely happy with my blonde highlight results. She has been my stylist for 15 years.
