05-2025 Opulent Studio in The Best 19 Hair Salon in McKinney, Collin Country Salons by JC McKinney - Florence - McKinney Bruce and Ginger Beasley: I went to Odd Duck Barbershop for a beard and mustache trim in a unique situation. Eric Knight, the owner of his shop, was fabulous! The building was easy to find, and although there is construction on an adjoining lot, we were able to find parking. There is an elevator up to the second floor, and in, "Salons by JC McKinney," after you go into the main lobby, the suites are numbered well with big frosted barn doors designating each space. Eric was able to work with me on how much of my beard needed to be taken off, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations. {Edit: After finding out Eric is very gifted as a barber, but also a musician, it seemed an affront to put a Creative in such a narrow box. It is always fun to see the gifts people have been blessed with to share with others, especially when they have the social skills he does. His workspace also shares his cool, outside the box vibe.} I have rarely let anyone cut my beard, but Eric immediately put me at ease with the questions he asked. We are older, but we are sure Eric can find a connection with anyone, regardless of age. We look forward to the next appointment for a haircut, and more conversation. Give him a call, prices are very reasonable as well.
Chelsea Danny Hair - McKinney Olga Nosik: I am doing my hair only with Chelsea and I couldn’t be happier with the results! She’s incredibly nice to talk to and also very respectful throughout the entire process. The haircut she gave me held its shape beautifully, which is rare to find. When it comes to her blondes, she always manages to find the perfect balance between achieving the color I want and ensuring my hair stays healthy. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for great service and stunning results!
The Regency Johnson Salon & Luxury Extensions - McKinney Joe and Kylie Lehocky: Regency is the best hair stylist I have ever been to! Hands down. It always makes me so nervous switching hair stylists, and I never found one that really understood what I was wanting. I found Regency, and there is no going back to anyone else. She took the time to understand what I was looking for, asked all of the questions, and made me feel so comfortable. From day one, I was hooked. She did an AMAZING job! Now, after a year or two, I trust her enough to say “just do what you think looks good”. She never disappoints.
The reason I made the switch was for her extension skills. I went to someone else, and they were so overpriced, and took forever. Regency gets you in and out quick, with the results that lasted so long! If anyone wants hair extensions, don’t waste time and money going anywhere else. Regency is your girl.
Lastly, she is just so fun to be around. She is HILARIOUS, and we always have a good time when she does my hair. If you’re in the market for a great colorist, flawless extensions, and maximum confidence when you walk out of the salon, pick Regency.
380 Luxe Beauty Salon - McKinney Van Denisovich: On Friday the 27th, I called in at the last minute for a haircut and color. Nora was kind enough to take the job. I came in around 5pm and we spoke on a light soft look on gray highlights and a root touch up follow by a haircut with layers. She did explain it would be a while, but she didn’t realize it would have taken a few hours “bless her heart”. I want to thank you Nora for the hard work and time you put into caring for the look I was trying to accomplish and not taking the easy way out in this challenging time. The Collaboration Room - McKinney Mi Name: The place was clean and the haircut was adequate. I made a 5:15 appt. for myself and one for my daughter right after mine; I wasnt sure what time we would get there as we were both coming from work. I ended up getting there around 5. As Im getting the haircut, the salon personal makes a comment to me about making a 5:15 appt instead of 5 and how they wanted to call me to come earlier because it was more convenient for them. Seriously?? I need to be on your time schedule not mine?? It felt as if this person was completely annoyed that they had to come in to work and cut hair; it was very uncomfortable. As we get to the end, I was asked if I wanted my hair curled or flat-ironed, but the tone and the attitude made me say no as I felt as if I was just in the way and wasting this persons time. My daughter felt the same way and could not wait to leave; she also declined curling or straightening. We just wanted to get out of there. Very sad experience.
Butchée Studio /Long Hair Studio - McKinney Lacey Skelton: In over 10 years I’ve never been happy with my haircuts or had any luck finding someone who knew how to handle long hair. I’m so happy I looked up a long hair salon and found Long Hair Studio! Jim is truly amazing. Words really can’t express how much I enjoyed my experience with him. He’s a true artist, and his passion shows greatly. I instantly felt comfortable with him handling my hair. He made sure to listen to me, take his time, and I could tell he truly cared. Not only did he do an amazing job with coloring my hair, he only trimmed what was needed off of my hair. He gave me professional tips and advice on how to care for my hair. Not only did he help me with all of that, but he also taught me how to style my hair in three different ways that is so easy and quick to do. I felt like I had known him already for years and it was my first time. I will never ever go anywhere else. I live an hour away and I would be fine with driving further if I had to because the experience and results is so worth it. Jim you are freakin awesome and I’m so happy I met you and have a forever hairstylist now! Thank you so much for everything, Jim!

Luxe Salon Design - Plano Marilyn Van Leuvan: I showed Susie a photo of a hairdo I liked. She listened to what I wanted and did a great job. Towne Square Salon Suites - Plano Gods Child: The cleanliness in the place is terrible. Whoever is cleaning this place needs to be fired. This use as to be a really nice establishment; but, not anymore. I hate to go here for service because one bathroom is always out of service and the other one is nasty! I honestly want my stylist to find another place to do hair. Yall really need to keep this place clean so the stylist you have will stay and you can attract more good stylist.
