05-2025 Hair House ATX in The Best 19 Hair Salon in Austin, Travis Country Salon Vibe - Austin Sarah Castleman: Salon Vibe was so cute and very clean feeling. The weather was beautiful so they had the front door open.
Kristen was amazing.I came and ended up doing something completely different than planned and she went with the flow. She was very personable and fun to chat with. My hair cut turned out better than anticipated.
Harlow Beauty and Hair Salon - Austin Micki Kahol: Had a great experience with Chelsea! She really listens to what you want and genuinely cares about how your hair turns out. She was transparent about pricing before service started and was very easy to talk to. The salon was clean and inviting. I also received coffee and snacks, which were a much needed energy boost for my appointment. My hair turned out exactly the way I wanted and I will definitely be coming back!
Hair Mission - Austin Veronica Cancel: Ken is my go to always as long as I stay in Austin. He always does an amazing job and I feel so refreshed every time I leave his salon. He’s super funny, friendly and always consistent in his styling skills. Definitely recommend! Going back again soon!
Austin Curls - Austin Amelia Jimenez: I’m so happy to have finally found Jasmine! With years of experience getting curly haircuts, including being a long-time client at Devacurl NYC, I’ve tried several salons in Austin since moving here in 2020. But Jasmine made my hair look the best it ever has.
She was thorough, professional, and super friendly. Before we even began, she took the time to have a detailed conversation to ensure we were on the same page about what I wanted. I also loved that she has her own separate studio area, so I was the only client there, which made for a very relaxed and personal experience. She gave me great styling tips, recommended products that are gentle on my sensitive skin, and explained exactly how much to use of each.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
Salon Vela - Austin Rebecca Van Lue: Had a wonderful experience getting my haircut with Courtney yesterday! She listened attentively and gave me exactly what I asked for. I also really enjoyed chatting with her! The salon itself is very nice, clean and welcoming. 10/10 experience overall - thank you so much!
Nova Hair Collective - Austin Akiko: 5/5 recommend. Haircuts have been a source of stress having dual textured hair (wavy in most, straight in certain areas, temperamental natural textures!). I just got my hair cut by Ruby who loves natural textures, and I felt extremely seen and validated and listened to as I was explaining my "hair spiel". Ruby clearly has a lot of experience working with wavy/curly textures, and I was confident in her work before/during/after my cut. On top of having great skill, I loved the shampoo and Rubys personality. Personally, time flew by super fast, and I really enjoyed my time. After living in Austin over a decade, I think I finally found my go-to haircut specialist, and I am very excited.
And while not hair related, there is free street parking, youre walking distance from Lazarus if you want to eat something before or after, and they have free coffee/tea/water while you are there!
Garbo A Salon and Spa Northcross - Austin Ashley McCarthy: I was highly dissatisfied with my recent visit to this salon. While the salon itself is beautiful with a great selection of products, the quality of the haircut and the skill level of the stylist did not live up to the price or expectations. I visited on 2/21/25, shortly after they had been featured on a local news station, and had high hopes.
I clearly explained that my hair is wavy/curly and that I prefer long, shaggy layers. Unfortunately, my stylist didn’t seem to consider my hair texture at all. She immediately chopped my bangs in a way that felt very harsh. I allowed her to continue, hoping the final result would blend, but it didnt. Instead, I was left with a jagged, unblended cut and a complete lack of shape. In the end, I told her that my bangs were blunt and asked if she could feather them out. She responded by taking thinning scissors to my bangs making matters worse.
I paid $94 for this poorly executed haircut and had to go elsewhere to get it fixed. If you have straight hair and prefer simple cuts, this salon may work for you, but I’d advise anyone else to look elsewhere. I would have preferred to speak with a manager directly, but I’m leaving this review in hopes of being reimbursed for such an unsatisfactory experience.
Capelli Salon Austin - Austin Bonnie Glass: What a wonderful experience! Capelli’s Salon stylists always take their time listening to what it is you want your hair to look like. And they come up with creative and beautiful ways to make it happen. Fast, efficient, and kind. It doesn’t get better than this hair salon.
KaRu Salon - Austin Annette: I was nervous about finding the right stylist in a new city since moving here but after doing some research, I found Kari. Her work is phenomenal, I’m so happy with my hair! She had great advice during our consultation and the finished result is perfect for me. I look forward to returning for future visits.
Third Space Salon - Austin Scott McHugh: I had my first appointment at Third Space Salon with Erica yesterday and its hands down the best haircut Ive received in Austin. Highly recommended for men with long hair. Looking forward to my next visit!
