1 /5 Natalie Flores: Here with my mom waiting in the ER waiting room and Dr comes out and talks to me asking about my mothers medical information when the waiting room is full of people. Then another patient is being spoken to by a different Dr about her medical information. I go to the nurse and i ask her for the HIPAA law brochure she asks why i tell her why she says yes i know we have told them they do not do anything about it, she says speak to the registration people and i go ask for brochure and ask about manager she calls the manager, i tell the registration manager why I am asking for brochure And she proceededs to tell me she knows and thats how they are in this hospital. Thats what they do and that is their protocol for this hospital. I tell her that that is violating peoples HIPAA law privacy. And she again says that is how they do it. I tell her the hospital can get sued because it goes against the law and I will be letting the lady know her rights. She says im going to call security because you are being disruptive. Bull! I am letting people know their rights which they neglected to do. They did not offer us a brochure. Im pretty sure they neglected everyone else. once she told me she was kicking me out I told everyone in the waiting room they have rights and they can not be consulted in the waiting room because it is violating their HIPAA rights. This is so wrong! They probably charge insurance for an emergency room, thats insurance fraud. How many more laws is this hospital breaking? Thisis ridiculous.
