1 /5 Anabel Hewitt: The incident that happened October 2024. I brought my daughter in to be seen and was told I had a past due balance of $85. I told the receptionist that I could pay today’s copay, but could pay the past due balance next week. I was sent to talk to Carol and explained the situation and that I’d be happy to give them my card information so they could automatically have it withdrawn. Her reply was that she sent me letters about the past due balance. I explained to her that I did not receive the letters nor a phone call Carla told me it wasn’t their job to call patients. I just wanted to come up with a game plan to pay for the past due balance within just a week it would have all been paid and tried to explain the situation again, but then things began to escalate. She yelled at me in front of my daughters and I was kicked out of the office. I then called my mother in law, Amy, who came up and tried to deescalate the situation. She paid the $85 for me, and asked if we could still be seen. Carla then took us in the back to give my mother in law misinformation about the situation to make me upset so I would yell so she could kick me out for the second time. She just kept trying to start a fight with us. All I wanted was my daughter to get seen, so I didn’t fight with her! We live in Kerrville and if it wasn’t such a drive we would not have stayed. The other staff was incredibly nice and my daughter was able to see one of the doctors, that day. Because of this incident, I have decided to move my daughter to Kerrville Pediatrics .
