1 /5 Jennifer Gonzalez: I came here to replace an alternator. Turns out the alternator did not work and I got charged twice and left with a bill of $520. My car still not fixed. I found out about the other shops around the area, that if a part does not work, they don’t charge twice. They only charge once. This is very telling of the owner. Be careful with greedy car mechanics that try to exploit you. My car was also damaged while he took out my old alternator and broke 2 pieces that connected cables. I later took it to another mechanic and he was surprised to find out that my whole electrical system was damaged. He stated that all that my car needed was the alternator replaced and it would have worked, but because the electrical system was damaged it didn’t matter. When I took it to Alex auto shop I was not expecting to have my car damaged even more and get charged twice for something they broke. I took my car to have the alternator replaced not for them to damage my electrical system. I recommend you to look elsewhere if you want to save money. Times are tough, and you don’t need anyone to look for an opportunity to overcharge you.
