Chad Barnes Fifties is AMAZING. Four things: (1) They don’t always answer the phone, but if their options are to: (a) jack up their prices to pay a full-time receptionist or (b) keep their prices low and holler back at me within a couple of hours, I STRONGLY prefer the latter. (2) They’re trustworthy. More than once, I have taken my car to them and told them what I thought was wrong. Thankfully, I have always been wrong, and they have always gotten me fixed up for WAY less money than they could’ve charged me if they had gone with my errant diagnosis. (3) They do GREAT work at fair prices. I have never had to take our cars back to them for repair. I don’t expect perfection, but so far, they’ve delivered it. And I never feel like I’m getting hosed on pricing. (4) They are friendly and kind. Mike always has a great attitude, welcomes me warmly, shakes my hand, and uses my name. He seems like the kind of guy you want to be around. We won’t take our vehicles anywhere else.

Wes Crawford I have to give a big shout-out of praise and thank you to Mike and everyone at fifties. I have had 2 of my vehicles worked on here. I live out of state right now, and my 2 daughters have both called me stressed and needing help. Of course, I looked around and found fifties, and Mike stepped up and helped me out with their cars. He was very fair priced and was straightforward with what needed to be done. Shanda Hague I lost my job because of this mechanic. I was referred to him by a friend the words great and Christian were said so I trusted her and gave them a call. Told him what was wrong he said he could come out and look at my car , came out and looked at it had no tools with him. Said he would come back the next day or two depending on the weather. Never showed so I waited till Monday to give him a call, said he’d be out sometime that week I didn’t want to bother him and waited till that Thursday and said he’d be out the next day no call or show again, after a couple weeks of the same thing of him saying I’ll come out and never showing up, I called another mechanic he said they’d take care of me and I asked why a mechanic would say he’d come and never show up he said oh they just do that because he either didn’t want to help you or couldn’t . By then I had lost my job due to not having a ride to work. The other mechanic fixed my car in a day. Sometimes I feel business in Tyler advertise as “Christian” just for the business .

Richard Orozco JR First of all, Probably, like many others out there, I had been skeptical of repair shops in general. So I did a little research, had asked around and was recommended Grace Auto... They are good honest car mechanics. Its nice seeing a local home town auto repair doing so well, as the packed parking lot can attest to... So bottom line they do solid work are competitively priced and thats why Ive been bringing my vehicles to them for last 11 years and have no complaints about the quality service. In addition and important to me, is that Grace Auto Works and their "Owner Kenny Gill is a Christian-centered businesses, here in East Texas, and I do highly recommend them! Davina Smith Thoroughly impressed with Mikes! I called Mikes after having my a/c compressor damaged at a dealers service department. At every step of the process, the folks at Mikes communicated clearly and professionally. Im sorry I dont remember her name, but the lady in the office was great! She let us know the diagnostic fee when we called to set the appointment, and again when we dropped it off. She called to let us know process, pricing, & to get approval for everything they did on the Jeep. (None of this after-the-fact explaining why it was more than we were expecting.) When I picked it up, they showed me the damage and explained how it was causing a short. Again, very professional and clear. I was also extremely pleased with their turnaround time. We dropped it off on a Thursday around noon, and got a call Monday morning that it was ready! It was still a pricey repair, but all the folks at Mikes made it a little easier to take!

Cheri Ferguson I think they have relocated to 301 E. Front St. in Tyler, I want to make sure the correct business is getting this review....all I can say is WOW, Juan was amazing! I was expecting the transmission to be completely shot. It ended up being a simple and inexpensive fix. He went above and beyond in diagnosing the car, and was completely ethical and honest which is such a rare virtue these days. I dont live in Tyler, my son is in school there which made this experience even so much more incredible. I would advise anyone needing an honest, ethical and talented mechanic to please call Juan.

A&A Auto Service has been the only place I go to when they first serviced my car a few years ago -- charging me only $18 for a simple job that two OTHER places estimated over $1,000 that required taking my entire engine out! Recently, A&A adjusted a few things during an inspection and did not charge me a dime. They have always been consistent with amazing service, all around fair prices, and courteousness, which makes them one of the finest auto repair businesses I’ve ever been to. I have such peace of mind taking my car there. Thank you A&A!

Katy Arbuckle I highly recommend Terry. He has worked on my car about six times now and I have never had an issue with any of his work. He is very honest and very competitive with pricing. I thought my alternator was going out and he could’ve very easily charged me for another one, but fix the problem without costing me an arm and a leg. TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!

PROJECT#MELT Extremely happy with the service, and highly recommended. Terry provided me with a very fast and accurate quote. While doing the repair he found a problem related to my initial issue, a damaged/ bent window track. His shop went above and beyond to fix the window track on top of my window regulator so "it would be done right" without charging me more than my quote. Terry is an honest and straight forward mechanic that not only lets you know exactly whats going on, he shows you the damaged part and why its damaged. I really cannot say enough good things about the experience I had using this shop.

Leon Morgan The best and honest. I had a friend that had a transmission problem and someone was going to charge her 2,000 plus dollars ,we took it to this shop , and he checked it , out it was just the battery , a good battery was needed. The battery cost about $150. Vehicle had no more problems. He could have easily charged less than $2000 and got the job. He didnt even charge a diagnostic fee.

Tony Carvajal After rotating the tires where they were bought the car pulled to the right. I thought the car needed an alignment so I took it to BA&B. The advice Anthony gave me to switch the front tires was spot on. The car drives true now. Not only did it work but it cost a lot less than it would have had the car been aligned. Honest and knowledgeable. That’s why I take my three cars there.

Michael Young I had a horrible experience with this auto body shop. I was told it will take two weeks to repair my car and it ended up taking them more than a month and my car is not even fixed right now. My car’s front bumper is not put in right and the hood was loose and started rattling. Their quality of service and work is not the best. This is the second time I’m going back to this body shop for them to fix my car.

I found this a great advantage over the dealer and especially so when the parts were delayed a week. Once in the shop, I received daily texts and emails updating the repair process. The work was completed on the day promised and it looked factory new. Amazing work guys. You really set the bar high for your competition!

Roger Coleman I wasnt happy with the experience. I came in and had a conversation with the service manager and told him I worked nights. I needed the estimate and the work done the same day. I live 45 minutes away with Noone to pick me up. He said he understood. We scheduled the following Friday and all that was done was an estimate. He told me Id have to reschedule for the work to get done. So essentially spend both my weekends instead of 1. Never heard of anything like that before.

Nya Lofters Amazing staff, amazing service! As someone who barely knows how to change a tire the staff here did phenomenal at explaining everything to me and helping me understand what was wrong, what they were going to do, and the price breakdown before starting services. Their financing option was extremely helpful, and their oil change price was great! I love that they kept me updated about my car through text and pictures of my diagnostic while I was at work. Everything about my experience was 5 star worthy, big thank you to the amazing crew!

David Williams Fernandez did a great job. He replaced the evaporator on my son’s truck. He gave me an estimate for the work before the job, stuck to the estimate and timeline he gave me, and was significantly cheaper than Christian Brothers. He is a good man, and I recommend him without any reservations.

Tammy Sinclair I just have to give a HUGE shout out to Fernandez Auto Service in Tyler! We were taking the grands to lunch and fun when the radiator hose blew a hole about 7 miles from Tyler…on a Saturday…about 1:00. Uuuugh. This guy was the third mechanic I called. He heard my situation, offered to fix it. We limped it the seven miles, and this garage owner spent FOUR HOURS of his Saturday replacing the hose and thermostat (because he had to wait for engine to cool between the stages). I HIGHLY recommend this guy if you live in/near Tyler and need a mechanic with INTEGRITY, give him a call! He is not set up to take cards, so just know that…but totally worth it!
