We were taking the grands to lunch and fun when the radiator hose blew a hole about 7 miles from Tyler…on a Saturday…about 1:00. Uuuugh. This guy was the third mechanic I called. He heard my situation, offered to fix it. We limped it the seven miles, and this garage owner spent FOUR HOURS of his Saturday replacing the hose and thermostat (because he had to wait for engine to cool between the stages). I HIGHLY recommend this guy if you live in/near Tyler and need a mechanic with INTEGRITY, give him a call! He is not set up to take cards, so just know that…but totally worth it!

Fifties Oil Change and Service Center - Tyler

Chad Barnes: Fifties is AMAZING. Four things: (1) They don’t always answer the phone, but if their options are to: (a) jack up their prices to pay a full-time receptionist or (b) keep their prices low and holler back at me within a couple of hours, I STRONGLY prefer the latter. (2) They’re trustworthy. More than once, I have taken my car to them and told them what I thought was wrong. Thankfully, I have always been wrong, and they have always gotten me fixed up for WAY less money than they could’ve charged me if they had gone with my errant diagnosis. (3) They do GREAT work at fair prices. I have never had to take our cars back to them for repair. I don’t expect perfection, but so far, they’ve delivered it. And I never feel like I’m getting hosed on pricing. (4) They are friendly and kind. Mike always has a great attitude, welcomes me warmly, shakes my hand, and uses my name. He seems like the kind of guy you want to be around. We won’t take our vehicles anywhere else.

Becky Bowman: I dropped my car off at 9am and finally got it at 5pm by just showing up at the shop. They partially rewired my compressor and left wires exposed and never informed us what was going on. When we went up to the shop to get our car we found our car parked in the lot with the doors unlocked and they were closing the facility. When asked about the car they said “They partially wired our car” and that was it. NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

They also have GREAT prices. I’ve had several sets of truck and trailer tires from Fidel and had great luck with them! I recommend this place to anyone needing some tires

Marion Bush: They dont have the necessary skills to repair foreign cars. But they wont tell you that when you call to make an appointment to drop your car off. Instead they keep your car for 8 weeks before they admit they have no clue what to do. Meanwhile they have charged you thousands of dollars for that 8 weeks. Then they offer you a very small fraction of what the car is worth (if it was operational), to get you to walk away from it (and the thousands of dollars in charges), having led you to believe the car is junk. Then suddenly within 2 weeks, your car is seemingly repaired, and on their lot for sale at a premium price, because they took it to the proper repair shop to have it fixed. If only they had said they didnt know how to repair it before messing with it to the tune of thousands of dollars. I dont know if thats "just business", or if its shady business. At the very least, once it was repaired, I should have been contacted with the option to return the small amount I received for the car plus pay all repair charges to get my car back. But instead, they will make a hefty profit for themselves by duping a widowed senior citizen.

The car drives way smoother after the alignment. The oil change was quick. They pointed out a potential issue with the tires. The waiting area was very clean and comfortable, and the staff friendly. Yesi Lopez: We have had the worst experience with patterson service center.. specially with their manager Benny he was so rude and screamed at my husband because my husband told him we needed our truck back and that we were tired of waiting.. we have been back and forth with this place since summer of 2024 and they still cant fix our truck after an accident my husband suffered at no fault to him and the insurance said we had to return rental because supposedly shop already finished our truck and they already paid them and the service shop has not even been working on our truck its still sitting in the lot. We had never had such a horrible experience with a shop or any place in general.

I was told it will take two weeks to repair my car and it ended up taking them more than a month and my car is not even fixed right now. My car’s front bumper is not put in right and the hood was loose and started rattling. Their quality of service and work is not the best. This is the second time I’m going back to this body shop for them to fix my car.
