Jay Kay At first I considered not writing a review for the sake of their business, but then I quickly thought of the atrocious service that I received and how that may affect the next person (For a quick review please read the tabs below, for a full review please keep reading.) 1. Price from original receipt to final went up by 52% of the original price. 2. Took 4x the original time that was said to finish the job (and still marked up the price). 3. 90% of phone calls will not be answered. 4. Poor quality work (reinforcement fell out 6 miles down the road.) To begin I simply went in for a bumper replacement and 1 headlight switch. All the materials (Bumper, Headlight) were already personally purchased and taken to the shop for installment. I was quoted a "fair" price but noticed that they refused to hand me the original receipt. I was told that the job would take 3 days but just to be safe it would take 5. I was also guaranteed that nothing would be done to the car unless I was contacted and that in exactly 3 days I would be contacted for an update. I did not receive a call on the 3rd day 4th day nor 5th day. On the 5th day (which was when the car was supposed to be ready) I called the owner twice which he did not answer then finally on the 3rd try that after noon I got a hold of him in which he told me that the worker "Was not sure he even wanted to work on it." I finally went up to shop for an explanation and was told that the bumper needed to "sit out in the sun" in 35 degree weather instead of using a heat gun to align it. The shenanigans went on for an extra 4 weeks where finally the car was "ready." I arrived at the shop inspected the poorly done work and was given the final receipt only to find out that the price was marked 52% higher then the original price. When I asked for the original receipt I was met with vulgar language and was told that it was "Lost," and had to pay the price on the new receipt. After 40 minutes of debating the documents the price was brought down to 25% higher then the original. I paid the amount and was on my way home when around 6 miles from the shop the reinforcement on the bottom of the bumper completely fell out and was dragging on the ground. I parked the car and looked at the bottom only to find that the reinforcement was not properly bolted down to the car.

Dennis Herbst Our Diesel truck blew a turbo hose on our way to Alabama. We were lucky enough to find Turners Automotive. They came to our campsite and accessed the problem. The next day they had the parts. They replaced the turbo hose, diesel exhaust sensors, and air filters. We were lucky enough to get back on the road the next day. Special thanks to Barrett and Eddie. Chelsea Vann I am so happy with my experience with fishers auto! I’ve had my car (which I love) for less than 2 weeks and started having an issue with the battery. Called Fishers and they replaced the battery same day, within an hour of my call. Josh, the gentleman who does the repair work has the best attitude. He’s delightful honestly. Not only did he replace my battery quickly, he checked all my oils and tire pressure and made me feel safer driving! Everyone that works there are wonderful to deal with. Also, their vehicles are affordable and don’t take entirely too long to pay off!

After hitting a deer near Edna, he was stranded and had his vehicle towed by AAA into town. Crossroad Collision provided a fair and transparent estimate of approximately $600 for the radiator replacement—including both parts and labor. On the advice of a local, however, we were referred to the so-called “honest guys” at 1st Service. I spoke directly with David, who assured me he would personally look after my son. What followed was the exact opposite of integrity: without providing any prior quote or seeking approval, David billed five hours of labor at $150/hour—well beyond the industry standard of 2–3 hours for a radiator replacement on a 2013 Ford Expedition. This wasn’t just poor business practice—it was predatory. And worse, it was done to a teenager, a young business owner trying to build something from the ground up. Taking advantage of someone in distress is reprehensible. Doing it to “the least of these”—a youth without his father present, trusting the word of an adult—is unconscionable. Let this serve as a warning: David and 1st Service do not operate with honesty or transparency. If you’re from out of town, or in a distressed situation, expect to be overcharged and misled. This experience was not just disappointing—it was a breach of trust and decency.

Kimberly Matlock There aren’t enough words to explain my gratitude to Dennis. Thanksgiving, my son and I were headed to Katy, returning from our holiday in Rockport. The battery in my car started dimming headlights and turned off interior lights before it eventually died on us. We were able to drift off of 69 to a safe place. I believe Vernon (his brother-in-law) stopped to help us first. He then called Dennis, who just so happened to be a mechanic. He drove 7 miles back into Edna then 7 miles back to us with a battery. I am writing this review as we are driving away. His website showed CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING….yet he still worked on Thanksgiving for a stranger broke down on the side of the road. My belief that there are still good people in this world was proved tonight. I will now drive to Edna from Katy for my basic car maintenance. Thank you so much Dennis!!!!

Talon Turner I visited Dennis Auto to have a broken door handle repaired; however, the repair failed a few weeks later. I dropped it off earlier this Friday, and they called me a few hours later telling me the price. I had an unfortunate phone call regarding his hourly rate, where he claimed that the standard rate in Edna is $150/hour and $180/hour in Victoria.  This statement proved inaccurate, as other businesses in Edna offer lower rates. While I only received minor repairs here on my car door, my family has had more extensive work done there, which seems to have been satisfactory, albeit expensive. I went to pick up my keys after our phone call, and thanked the owner for his time. As I was picking up my car to take it elsewhere, one of his employees just stood at the garage bay doors just staring me down until I left. Definitely will not be coming back.

Robert Miller Took my truck in for a power steering leak. Said they could not find a leak and said my radiator was low on water charged me 30 dollars. What a rip off place. Next day. Took it to a real mechanic got it repaired. This could happen to you beware.

Foreman David (TrailChaser) My sons Frontier needed a new fuel pump to get running again after sitting parked for three years. Gs was great! Really fast turn around, everyone is friendly and they get the work done fast. Glad we found an awesome mechanic shop here in Edna. We will be back.(the ac in that truck needs to be fixed)

William Formolo Had a trailer with ABS light coming on when brakes applied. Did not fix. Claimed ABS on older trailers function that way. 2018 trailer ABS light never came on before. Took 6 years to start working? Wouldnt take a Tonka truck to them.

ZRO Garcia I was driving from Victoria and experienced a flat tire, so I was using a spare tire. I needed a patch urgently and stopped at the first available tire shop, which unfortunately was this one. Upon parking, I inquired with an older white gentleman about the cost of a tire patch, and he replied that it would be $20. I agreed and proceeded to retrieve the tire. However, he then stated that I had not asked if he had time to perform the patch. I found this response perplexing, as I would have expected him to mention this initially. I then asked if he had time, and he replied that he did not, essentially declining my business. As the only customer present, I was surprised by his response. Additionally, as a Hispanic individual, I sensed a discriminatory attitude from him.

Gurl Went here because we woke up to a flat tire and we were heading out of town. We were able to put some air in it. Since we have an air compressor. When we got to this place the man was very rude and unwilling to help at all. He said he didnt work on rims that didnt belong to the truck. He kept making faces and excuses. I dont know what the rims had to do with getting a patch on my tire because it had a nail in it. Mister we are sorry we got you up from sitting in your compfy chair and why do you bother opening the place if your not willing to work . You were very rude to my husband and we really needed your help. We got the help we needed in Victoria. Its a shame. People like you are the reason we do business out of this town

Victor Gallardo After an emergency blowout t&t stepped up to the plate and handles the installation of two tires for my tow dolly and got me back on the road.

1 2 Mediocre service. If you get an oil change here expect for them to cut corners. They will not change your oil sticker, use an oil funnel, or treat your vehicle with care. Expect to receive oil on your engine cover that has not been cleaned. I do not recommend coming here for an oil change.
