Joseph Walker I had a terrible experience with Pope Automotive in Lubbock. I brought my vehicle in to have the A/C serviced and recharged. They charged me a significant amount, and when I got home, I checked it and found it was completely empty—no cold air at all. Clearly, nothing was actually fixed. I went back to confront them, and instead of taking responsibility, they told me I’d have to pay again to have it serviced. They claimed it might be an electrical issue—but how would that make the refrigerant disappear? That points to a leak, not an electrical problem. If they had used dye or done a proper pressure test the first time, they would’ve found the issue. This place is a rip-off with awful customer service. I absolutely do not recommend bringing your vehicle here. Save your money and go somewhere that knows what they’re doing and actually stands by their work.

Travis Gibson I recently took my car into Pope Auto to address a couple of ongoing issues that Id been having with the front driver side breaks/axel of my vehicle. The team there quickly looked everything over and found a bearing that needed to be replaced. Additionally I asked them to look the rest car over and in doing so they discovered that my serpentine belt was cracked and about to fail. They got both of those things taken care of for me pretty fast compared to what Ive experience at other mechanics in town. After driving the vehicle a couple of days I noticed that the breaks were still making a bit of noise. This was not directly related to noise caused by the worn out bearing, so I thought they may have missed it, so I took it back. When looking that the breaks more specifically. They realized that the hub was bent which was causing issues with the breaking system. I couldnt think of anything that has happened to the car that would have resulted in a bent hub, but stranger things have happened Im sure. They said there was a small chance the hub could have been bent when the bearings were replaced. I expected to have another bill for this repair and additional repairs to the breaks, but since they missed it the first time and couldnt 100% prove it wasnt caused by the previous repair, they took care of the hub and the break issue completely free of charge. I was blown away that they didnt charge me for at least the breaks. Its good doing business with a shop who has integrity and will take responsibility for an issue and take care of the customer even if they arent 100% certain it was their fault.

Dylan Zimmerman I wanna give a huge shoutout to Randy Pope and his team for getting my 2008 Cadillac SRX repaired on such short notice and they did an amazing job. I was in town for business from Austin for the week when my starter went out. Not being familiar with the area and not knowing any mechanics, I just went with the first one I picked. The tow truck driver and I arrived at Pope well after hours and we thought we were just gonna drop the car off and Id just walk to my hotel. Well, the owner came out to see what was happening. Oddly enough, he was doing some late-night work when we arrived and quickly started my invoice. Afterwards, he was gracious enough to give me a lift to my hotel. After a good day of work on my starter and water pump, my car was ready for the 6-hour drive back to Austin. The mechanics did an amazing job and, if I need anymore car work while in Lubbock, Ill take my car to Pope Automotive. Thank you, gentlemen.

BRENNEN Cowley 10/10 Scott’s is amazing: great customer service, honest and fair pricing, and a very knowledgeable team. I did a night drop-off of my girlfriends 2018 Chevy Sonic, and the next morning they called me with the cause and a fix. The PCV valve had gone out. They informed me that it was integrated into the valve cover and that it would need to be replaced. They got it done within the next day; it took two days total. That is an amazing turnaround time. It’s been 2 weeks, and the car is still running better than before. I will continue to take her car there as well as recommend Scotts to other people. I can’t thank their team enough. Honest, trustworthy team.

Rob Winkleman If it were possible to give 12 stars, I would. I found myself in a crisis when another shop in town returned my Porsche Cayenne Turbo to me with at least five problems that it didn’t have when we took it in. Kaylee Luna I could not recommend this shop more! I called around for what I thought would be major repair involving our Dodge journey and was met with shops just saying bring it in and they’d diagnose but the repair time could be a few weeks. Here, the owner Rocky took time to discuss my concerns over the phone and was confident they could diagnose the exact cause of the issues and have it repaired quickly. My husband had also repaired several things on the car himself and they took time to discuss his thought process to his diagnosis of the vehicle issues, we’ve never had a shop be so receptive and actually listen to us so intently before even bringing the vehicle in! We dropped our vehicle off and it was repaired within 2 days! There were several issues and they were incredibly thorough and kept us informed every step of the way! We weren’t able to have all repairs completed at that time due to financial strain but took our vehicle back a few weeks later to have everything completed and it was fixed within a few hours!

Cameron F My vehicle was broken down in Post, where another shop told me the engine was bad. After a recommendation from a friend I called Wrench Em and they arranged a wrecker to bring the car to their shop. A starter and bad fuel injector were replaced. The vehicle is now back on the road. The best part i was out of town, and they were able to drop the vehicle off at a relatives house for me.

Randi Crandall I’ve had the MOST frustrating time taking my car here for service. I have a coolant leak and after 2 separate visits and $850+ later I STILL have a coolant leak. I feel as though the technicians are spinning a wheel and picking an issue to “fix” and hope it works. I feel scammed and no longer want to take my car here for service. Toi Forswall I took my GMC Tahoe to Mieneke to have the air conditioner checked. It had quit blowing cold air. After spending some time with it, the conclusion was that I needed a new compressor. I took back on a Saturday morning to have the work done and I waited for it. It took only a couple of hours to get it done. The cost was very reasonable too. Now I’ve got nice cold air running through my vents. I will definitely use Mieneke again!

Veronica Czewski This is a dishonest man deceiving people based on my personal experience. My SUV needed a heater hose replacement. I was parked in front O‘Rielly’s . He told me he would not warranty O’Reilly’s parts on his work, because the parts were “cheap”. He claimed that the correct part was only at Autozone. He returned 3 hours later. He charged me for a new heater hose and labor $180. He didn’t put on a new heater hose, instead he placed a $7 plastic T at the connection points! I reached out 2 days later when the plastic T blew off. He was rude! He refused to return my money or complete the job he had been paid to finish. Below are the photos of the original broken heater hose, and his repair. Lubbock Police Department said it was a civil matter rather than criminal.

Cody Perry Jim Phillips is awesome. Needed an O2 sensor replaced and had already had the diagnostic worked up at another shop. They were super chill to work with, waived my diagnostic fee, and took care of the O2 sensor without any problems. Best part is they could tell me the exact price to the cent to get the repair done before I brought the car in, and got it done within a day just like they said they would. This is an honest auto shop that does good work, and Id feel safe putting my family in any car that they work on.

Steve Ramos Very honest and friendly people! I stopped by after a failed state inspection due to a "bad" wiper blade. I knew there was nothing wrong with them just had them installed in May, I even told the manager where I was getting my inspection done that these wipers were practically brand new. So with the threat of not passing inspection I had new one installed. I left and just happened to pass by Jim Phillips Auto Service and spoke with Tommy who inspected said wiper blade and he said there was nothing wrong with it. Nothing even close to failing, he even pulled up the Texas State Inspection Book and reviewed the wiper blades portion with me and even gave me a copy. So with that information I went back to original place of inspection and told them theres nothing wrong with my blade, they continued to contest, so I pulled out the copy of State Inspection Tommy gave me and read them what they should have known. Long story short, they refunded my money! Thank you Tommy,Ill definitely be by to get some need work done on my car!

PTS Deeznutz Claimed to have more knowledge than other garages, even talked down about Oreillys. Kept my car 4 days, and charged me 180 for the same information oreillys had given me for free. Wanted more than the cost of a new engine to fix a timing issue. (Almost 1800) Claimed they needed to rent a special tool to do the job, but that tool only cost 40 bucks online. I wont be using them again

We selected Complete Auto Repair because it was one of only a few automotive shops that were open on Saturdays.
