5 /5 BKR: We had a little impromptu tour which was very cool, informative, and fun. The old carriages and cabins were so neat to look at. The tour guide was interactive and told us a bit about so many of the different items and buildings/areas. Super cool! We had another unprecedented adventure trying to find a missing piece of my son’s action figure that he lost along the tour. The tour guide was so kind to my son, helped us look, and was very patient. Hats off to him for being a great tour guide and having such a kind and patient heart. We will return soon (this time, without the action figure LOL).

3 /5 B.T. Hill: We stopped here when we were passing through. We did not wait for a guided tour which meant we would not able to enter the buildings. It was an interesting place to walk around. I recommend stopping if you have a half hour to spare.

3 /5 D Largent: Some beautiful and interesting structures. But, lady working didnt seem to know squat about Stephenville history. My guess is that this place has a potential to be a much better educational centee than what it is.

5 /5 Hai Tran: 1st time in Stephenville. Small town but historic looks quiet and not crowded. I recommend everyone come by or visit Stephenville. Sorry for don’t have any picture of his city to post here.

Fannin County Museum of History - Bonham

Ressie Cavenaugh: Great visit here to learn lots about the history of the area. Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, this stop is worth the time. One of my favorite things was the pictorial history of the courthouse. Friendly folks who will take the time to be sure you get the most out of your visit. Tell em Ressie sent ya! Side note: sneaky Geocache on the premises!

Sam Rayburn House State Historic Site - Bonham

Wayne Walk Jr: Very well kept Memorial and Historical place! The staff were great! Very nice to talk to and enjoy the tour with. I enjoyed the tour and learning more about Sam and the family.

Fort Inglish Museum - Bonham

Jones Tena (Explored and Conquered): We werent able to view inside the houses, because they were closed. But it was still nice to look at each house and read the informative plaques. Cant wait to come back when we can see the insides.

Bonham State Park - Bonham

Josh Kreider: I love this place, I grew up in bonham and the state park has been a big part of my life growing up. No I have a little one I want to see him enjoy this beautiful park. It is an incredibly clean park, even the water is clear. Waist deep you can see your feet! Thats rare for Texas lakes. I have known for a long time that there were hiking trails out there but I really had no idea how nice they were untill a birthday camping trip we took last weekend. Its not a very big lake at all. Its almost in the "big pond" category. So I never imagined that the hiking would be more than a beaten path to the water 10 from the little road that encompasses the lake. I was wrong because they are some of the best trails Ive been on. A little confusing download a hiking trail app. There are a lot of unmarked paths that are not shown on the parks office map. Getting lost is probably inevitable but no worries because the trails are long but only cause they meander around. You wont find yourself miles in the brush turned around in a tight spot. No dangerous getting lost scenarios. Camp sites are beautiful and kind of close but not so much that it takes the fun out of it. I will say it is a little on the, early to bed early to rise, mentality. My family likes staying up till midnight and sometimes later. We were constantly having to keep lights off and noise down so as not to disturb anyone. I know we did though, so if you are looking to hang out and meet fun young people. This isnt where to go. If you want a quiet friendly clean and restful weekend in nature this is the place for you.

It’s an incredibly informative and well-curated tribute to one of Texas most influential political leaders. The displays and historical recreations are top-notch—thoughtfully arranged and full of fascinating details that really bring Speaker Rayburn’s legacy to life. From his personal items to photographs and documents, every exhibit tells a piece of the story with clarity and respect. The staff were warm, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable. They answered questions with enthusiasm and added personal insights that enriched the experience even further. The museum is also very easy to get to, making it a perfect stop whether youre a local or just passing through. If you’re interested in American history, politics, or just enjoy a well-done museum, this one is absolutely worth your time. Highly recommended!

The Texas Quilt Museum - La Grange

Rae Edwards: Beautiful quilts on display. They change their displays every 4 months. The Docents were very friendly and knowledgeable about the quilts on display.

Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites - La Grange

Jamie Cicco: This state historical site is such a cool place. It features ruins of Kreische Brewery (and the still standing home) as well as Monument Hill a tomb for those who died in the Dawson Massacre of September 1842. There is a beautiful overlook, and the grounds themselves are very well maintained. Only $5 per person for admission and leashed dogs are welcome. The Visitor Center has a few displays of relics that you won’t want to miss! I do recommend wearing good shoes and carrying water if you are planning to walk down to the brewery. It’s a bit steep in some places!

Texas Heroes Museum - La Grange

Tony Tolic: My wife and I were amazed at all the history and stuff in this tiny place. Charlie did an amazing job answering our questions and giving us an awesome tour. Even though my 9 year grandson got figity, Charlie took it in stride and was very patient. Thank you for for this wealth of information!

Ruddick Park - Colorado City

Neftali Calderon: I love the park...... but needs badly road repairs (new pavement) and drinking water stations all over the park,also to open the beautiful swimming pool for the adults....we like to swim,too.
