5 /5 Katrina Dawn Miller: The house is beautiful. I liked the history of the family. At the entrance/ kitchen area there is a huge clam shell that one of the Maxey boys brought home from college. Ive never seen a clam shell that big. I attached a photo.
My favorite room was the library. All original books and photos owned by Mr. Maxey.
Upstairs, we saw the vintage toys. The little stuffed lion is adorable. I also liked the drum and puppets.
The widows walk, balcony, and front porch were closed and currently under reconstruction. The tour guide was very nice and knew a lot about the Maxey family.
Afterwards, we visited Evergreen Cemetery. The Maxey family is buried directly across from the saint wearing cowboy boots.
