5 /5 Alesia Hoyle: The house is listed on the Register of Historic Places for its architectural significance. Built in 1868, the house belonged to Sam Bell Maxey and his wife. Most of the furniture and other household artifacts are original to the house! Tours are available for $5. It is well worth the visit! This house was the first in Paris to have an indoor bathroom! It narrowly escaped the path of the last major fire that engulfed and destroyed downtown, making it a sort of period time capsule.

5 /5 Katrina Dawn Miller: The house is beautiful. I liked the history of the family. At the entrance/ kitchen area there is a huge clam shell that one of the Maxey boys brought home from college. Ive never seen a clam shell that big. I attached a photo. My favorite room was the library. All original books and photos owned by Mr. Maxey. Upstairs, we saw the vintage toys. The little stuffed lion is adorable. I also liked the drum and puppets. The widows walk, balcony, and front porch were closed and currently under reconstruction. The tour guide was very nice and knew a lot about the Maxey family. Afterwards, we visited Evergreen Cemetery. The Maxey family is buried directly across from the saint wearing cowboy boots.

Hanna Springs Sculpture Garden - Lampasas

Joshua Glendenning: A very nice place for a solar eclipse and some varied interesting art. There is a small monarch butterfly garden from an Eagle Scout project that helps with the stench near by. I think the smell is from the small stagnant water drainage it seems. The art sculptures are fun and varied. There was ton of parking during the eclipse so there should be plenty any other time.

Tiffany Willhite: Small little museum but has a ton of information in it. And lots of memorabilia. I would definitely recommend taking your kids.

Worlds Largest Spur - Lampasas

Anthony Riviera: We called it a life changing experience. Who would ever think you would see the worlds largest spur in real life. We loved it!

Texas Wendish Heritage Museum - Giddings

Greg Schwarting: We ate our picnic on their shady porch & enjoyed the flowers. Attendant was very welcoming and informative. They have a winderful, interesting display of items that belonged to the Wendish settlers. A gem of a place. We enjoyed the kitchen items, war uniforms, school display, traditionally dressed manicans.

Giddings Firemans Park - Giddings

Eric c: 4th of July event was 2 trailers selling smoked meat for 100 dollars a brisket or 65 for a smoked pork butt. No music or anything else. 30 mile drive to see 8 people sadly sitting in the heat getting ate up by bugs, looking for something to do.

Fort Boggy State Park - Centerville

Karen Landis: We have enjoyed this quiet little park on several occasions. The lake is serene, with an easy hiking trail that goes around it. There’s a large picnic area at the lake. The cabins here are very nice, very clean, with a great balcony viewing the woods. We enjoy staying here. Note that you cannot park your car directly in front of the cabins, except for the ADA cabin that’s close to the parking area. We use a wagon to carry our gear to the cabin. The staff here is friendly and has always been very helpful.

Tyler Thibeaux: Up early this morning so I chose this place to drive by and take some photos. The oaks were incredible and the park was peaceful and gorgeous in the morning. Ill be back to check out the lake trail. 5 stars.

Liberty Municipal Park - Liberty

David Pearson: A nice all-around park. The main function of the park is the ball fields. And these seem adequate, but I did not focus on them. A small trail winds around a small pond with plenty of frogs and several geese and ducks. Signs do warn of gators, but did not see signs of any. The park has several playgrounds for kids and at least one has new equipment. For being regularly used. The park was relatively calm and peaceful (as well as clean). No got-to-see-this interests in the park, but if you are in the area and want to get out. This park is worth it.
