Fort Boggy State Park - Centerville (TX)

5 /5 Karen Landis: We have enjoyed this quiet little park on several occasions. The lake is serene, with an easy hiking trail that goes around it. There’s a large picnic area at the lake. The cabins here are very nice, very clean, with a great balcony viewing the woods. We enjoy staying here. Note that you cannot park your car directly in front of the cabins, except for the ADA cabin that’s close to the parking area. We use a wagon to carry our gear to the cabin. The staff here is friendly and has always been very helpful.

5 /5 Mahailey Oliver: We enjoyed our stay at Fort Boggy and plan to rent a cabin again in the future! The park staff were very friendly. We didn’t explore the trails as much as we planned due to an uncharacteristically hot February (temps were 20 degrees higher than average—glad the cabin had AC!). We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the bathrooms. We have seen some horrible bathrooms at other state parks, but Fort Boggy’s was perfect!

5 /5 Ryan Swenson: Fort Boggy State Park has some of the best cabins Ive seen at a state park. The lake was no good as we felt some warm spots and later found infectious marks all over us. Could be a time of year situation? The office staff was not very informative or friendly and I wasnt impressed compared to 30+ parks Ive been to. Closed a lot more than the normal scheduled times, couldnt even give us a heads up on loading into the cabins. I still give the park 5 stars because we had a great time and all Texas State Parks deserve 5 stars. Thanks for reading!

5 /5 Jason Tidwell: Really quite. Beautiful cabins. Abundant wildlife. My favorite State Park so far. Its not very big but that helps keep it peaceful. Highly recommend
