    FitQuest70: I don’t usually post reviews for anything other than Anytime Fitness gyms, but Rick’s Auto Shop in Brownsville, Texas, deserves a huge shoutout—it’s been a total blessing on my quest journey from Sacramento to Texas! Right away, Rick took my car for a test drive, hooked it up to the diagnostics machine, and laid out the good and bad news with complete honesty. The good? He pinpointed the issue in the exhaust system or catalytic converter. The bad? His shop doesn’t handle muffler work, but he recommended Three Stars Mufflers, which got me in and out with a new catalytic converter at a reasonable price—review for them coming next! Rick’s straightforward approach and friendly vibe made all the difference; we even had a great chat about California versus Texas and the wild differences between them. This whole town has been so welcoming, and while I’m back on the road today after catching Starship flight number nine yesterday, I’m already looking forward to returning for more launches!

    Rebecca Woodall: WONDERFUL, FRIENDLY SERVICE! I am visiting family in Brownsville, and while I was at a car wash, I went to lift one of my windshield wipers to dry off the windshield and the wiper blade came off. It looked to me like it was broken and I would need a new set of blades. I found Fern Automotive through a Google search and Juan Pablo told me they would be able to work on it that very day. I still had the blade that came off and he discovered that it wasnt broken and that he could simply put it back on the wiper arm. It works like a champ! When I asked him how much I owed him, he was very kind and said I didnt owe him anything. He could have easily sold me a new set of wiper blades and charged me for the labor and I wouldnt have been any the wiser (which I think a lot of places would have done), but he didnt. I come to Brownsville quite often and this will now be my go-to place for automotive services. I highly recommend them!

    Raquel Sherman: I went last week to replace my entire AC system and have zero complaints. I haven’t had working AC for over a year and had been around Brownsville trying to find a reasonable mechanic but was quoted very high amounts to do the job. At Dans, I was able to get the whole system replaced in 4 hours for a 1/3 of the price of other mechanics quotes. Dans work included 6 month warranty on labor and lifetime warranty on the parts. He was patient and explained everything to me as someone who knows zero about cars. Would definitely recommend!

    shanie viator: Paid $600 for nothing guy did nothing to the vehicle and still charged $600 horrible people God will be there for these type of people at the end. Gave parts to mechanic to fix and wet to go pick up car it still had the code that the parts were not changed. It is because my wife dropped off the vehicle with no man around they took advantage. Not trustworthy, not reliable mechanics at all, please save yourself the hassle.

    Leo Rodriguez .Lower Rio Grande Valley History: Horrible customer service. Drove there from San Benito (26 miles), repair shop was recommended by friend. Drove up, was greeted, explained car’s problems/symptoms with owner (?). He stated the other mechanic was more familiar with engine symptoms, would go call him. After bout 10 minutes or so same man told us the mechanic was in bathroom, would tend to us asap. After waiting another 1/2 hour or so I went up to same man, asked if we were going to be assisted, he said we would be attended to shortly. After waiting for over an hour we left, figured if their service was this poor, I didn’t need them anywhere mere my vehicle. Never again.
