5 /5 Hesam Rezaei: Memorial Park is one of my favorite spots in Houston. My wife and I often come here for hiking, and we really enjoy the variety of trails—some are paved and easy, while others lead deeper into the woods for a more natural experience. It’s a peaceful escape right in the middle of the city.
We’ve spotted armadillos, rabbits, turtles, and lots of birds on our hikes. It’s especially rewarding to go in the early morning or late afternoon when wildlife is more active. The trails are well-marked and maintained, making it easy to explore new routes each time.
One thing to keep in mind: parking is paid. Some areas charge $6.50 for a full day, while others are $2 for three hours. It’s worth it, though, considering the quality of the park and its amenities.
If you’re into nature, photography, or just want a good walk, Memorial Park is a gem.
