5 /5 Keithia Toles: This was a cool spot. There was a food court inside with lively decor/architecture. I visited to attend an event at the Skylawn on the rooftop. It was nice. A DJ was playing music and there was a pop up mini bar and gelato stand. The view of the downtown Houston skyline was amazing!

The views of downtown Houston are stunning, and the rooftop offers a peaceful escape with its beautiful gardens and open lawns. I loved how there were so many places to sit, relax, and take in the surroundings. The urban farm added a unique touch, and the community vibe with yoga and other events made it feel like more than just a park. Skylawn is now one of my favorite spots in the city—perfect for a chill day with great views and a relaxed atmosphere.

Historic Donnellan Family Crypt - Houston

Monica Foster, Broker: While there isnt much to see here, other than the opening of what was the Donnellan Family Crypt, what I love about this is the history of the Donnellan Family and the crypt itself. It has me pondering what life was like back then, when Houston was just a town. While the familys remains were removed over a century ago, its still a really neat place to pay a visit to if you find yourself walking, jogging, or biking past it. So many secrets and treasures can be found along the banks of the Buffalo Bayou, and this is certainly one of them!

Asia Society Texas Center - Houston

Melvin Maya: Last week I visited with a couple of friends. We grabbed a bite to eat inside and then began to work our way through the entire experience. Its a very nice and well thought out building. You gain a little insight to each of the different Asian cultures with the interactive displays. There was also a phenomenal exhibit at the time we visited. At the time of this review, Thursdays are free entry. Definitely worth a visit and I plan to go back again.

Sylvan Beach Park - La Porte

Esther O: update: 5/21, both sides of the beach are now open. the pier is still damaged and closed off. I visited here 5/14/25. As of right now: • The right side of the beach is closed off but the picnic tables are open to sit at. This side of the beach is nice if you want quiet. I sat at a picnic table, shaded, and read a book with nothing but the sound of the waves and seagulls in my ear. • The pier is damaged and thus, closed. • The left side of the beach is open. The sandy area is pretty small but you if you can find a spot, you can place a beach blanket or chair and relax or swim. I didn’t get in the water so i can’t speak of the temperature or depth. There are shaded and unshaded picnic tables on this side as well. • You can fish from the sidewalk on either side of the pier. Overall, a nice place to get away and relax and/or swim. I like it here. bathrooms are clean too quick is a rare plus.
