06-2025 I Heart Aggieland Sign in Hight rate 10 location for tourist in College Station, TX, USA (part 2)Reveille Memorial - North Texas Animal Control Authority: A humbling experience to see the love for our mascot.
The Cut Axe Throwing - College Station Evelyn Garcia: I had such a great time at The Cut in College Station! The atmosphere was amazing—fun, lively, and perfect for a group outing. Our instructor, Robert, was absolutely fantastic! He was super engaging, helpful, and made sure everyone felt confident (and safe!) while throwing axes. He really added to the overall experience. I’ll definitely be coming back for more axe-throwing fun. Highly recommend checking it out!
Albritton Bell Tower - College Station Tadesse Fikre Teferra: This is one of iconic and scenic spots on the Texas A&M Universality main campus. The bell tower rings every hour and there is a special aggies song on game days. GIGEM!
St. Marys Catholic Center - College Station Lorenzo Rossi: As a professor, I truly appreciate what St. Mary’s brings to our community. It’s a place where students can find real support, grow in their faith, and feel grounded during a very formative time in their lives. The priests and staff are welcoming, the liturgy is beautiful, and the overall atmosphere is both peaceful and uplifting. I’ve seen how much of a positive difference it makes for students and for me, it’s a blessing to have such a strong spiritual presence so close to campus.
Museum of the Big Bend - Alpine Michael Monroe: So a museum at a small university in a small town. How good can that be?
It can be GREAT! The Museum of the Big Bend was voted the #1 best small town museum in America. That should convince you to go!
We were so impressed. A reasonably sized museum of the Big Bend area. Excursions, exploration, famous people, Texas Rangers, battles, skirmishes, trains, wagon trains, fossils, videos and more.
Allow about 2 hours to see it all. Recommended for Teenagers and up.
Art Alley - Alpine Charles Carter: Directions were a little vague. There are lots of other murals in the area.
Heritage Museum - Falfurrias Janet Williamson: Cant ever find anyone there, and no one answered the phone. Made 4 trips there & left with a disappointed child.
Brown County Museum of History - Brownwood Brandy Bee Rose: This is my favorite place in all of Brownwood. It is the most underrated attraction we have - right in our own backyard.
I’ve worked here and visited dozens of times, and I still never get tired of it. There’s always something new to learn or investigate about the fascinating story of the past.
Brown County history is Texas History. It’s a progression through time from learning about the ancient ways of primitive peoples to the advances of medicine, agriculture, business, education, and more. There are specific exhibits to the county - featuring familiar local names and faces - but you’ll also see the impacts of war and technology that impacted the entire nation, and the world.
The kids absolutely love it. In this day and age where every kid thing is brightly colored, they love to be able to see, touch, and experience real things. There is a lot of interactivity in the museum and they will leave wanting to come back for more.
I encourage anyone to follow their Facebook and visit during their regular hours or during a special event. You WILL NOT be disappointed!
They also have a $50 annual pass for families.
