5 /5 Brandy Bee Rose: This is my favorite place in all of Brownwood. It is the most underrated attraction we have - right in our own backyard.
I’ve worked here and visited dozens of times, and I still never get tired of it. There’s always something new to learn or investigate about the fascinating story of the past.
Brown County history is Texas History. It’s a progression through time from learning about the ancient ways of primitive peoples to the advances of medicine, agriculture, business, education, and more. There are specific exhibits to the county - featuring familiar local names and faces - but you’ll also see the impacts of war and technology that impacted the entire nation, and the world.
The kids absolutely love it. In this day and age where every kid thing is brightly colored, they love to be able to see, touch, and experience real things. There is a lot of interactivity in the museum and they will leave wanting to come back for more.
I encourage anyone to follow their Facebook and visit during their regular hours or during a special event. You WILL NOT be disappointed!
They also have a $50 annual pass for families.
