1 /5 J Allen: This was by far the worst hospital experience I have ever had. It started in the ER when they said they were going to admit me, I asked for a transfer and they said “well we have already admitted you and there should be a bed ready soon”. At this point I didn’t have a choice unless I went AMA because the transfer process we asked to be initiated had still not made it to the individual capable of making that happen (16 hours after admittance there was still no update given on the transfer papers).
They are not staffed to make necessary rounds or to come to your room if you press the medical nurse call button, or to even relay information to the charge nurse when requested. A few times of using the nurse call to ask for someone, that individual was never informed of the call and we had to physically find them to have them come to the room. A couple of nurses were good that we had, but other than that, we did not have a good experience. One day nurse stated she “misread” the orders needed to be done when I questioned them and couldn’t answer a single question for us without beating around the bush. When we asked a question to anyone (except the charge nurse), I was told “I will get back to you” and never had a follow up, and every doctor is on a different page and some do not tell you what orders are being done and why. The lead charge nurse finally came in and we discussed the issues and she oversaw my care the rest of the time, which I was grateful for as she was the only nurse that gave us any answers our entire stay.
I had to have an echo done and over 24 hours later, they said they couldn’t fit me in STILL and had to stay another day stating that I would be seen in the morning… Which is what I was told multiple times throughout the 24 hours of waiting so I have ZERO trust in this hospitals communications or that the tests would actually be completed at said time. Ultimately, the doctors said I could discharge and reschedule the echo through an outpatient appointment and I will go to a different hospital if I feel necessary in the meantime. This was the ONLY test that the doctors needed the entire time and no one could get it done. Not sure how a test that was made to seem so important for diagnosing what was going on could be changed to an outpatient appointment at a later date. We will never come back here, do not waste your time or money here.
