5 /5 Shyam Patel: The zoo is an amazing spot for a family trip, especially if you have a day to explore! There are plenty of animals to see, including lions, tigers, giraffes, and flamingos. The butterfly garden is a delightful experience, and feeding the flamingos was super fun, especially for the little ones. The birds and parrots, with their vibrant colors, were a highlight for us. Due to time constraints, we managed to explore everything in about 3 hours, but it’s definitely a place we’d love to return to. Highly recommend for a fun and educational day out!

5 /5 Miriam Zapata: When I was in grade school we would go on field trips to the Zoo. And then we just go every year. Brew at the Zoo is fun for adults. And then I took my Alaskan boyfriend to visit. They used to have Polar Bears, but they took them somewhere where it was not so hot. Can’t wait to get on the zip line.

No wonder Gladys Porter Zoo met the high standards of AZA accreditation because they most certainly prioritize animal well-being and conservation initiatives.

Resaca de la Palma National Battlefield - Brownsville

Ulyses Yakovlevich: Another incredible piece of history right in the middle of Brownsville. Literally a 10-ish minute drive down the road from the Palo Alto battlefield in north Brownsville, this site is kept in just as excellent condition. Considerably smaller than palo alto but the scenery is just as good. Highly recommend to everyone to visit this place, great piece of history here with lots to learn!

Boca Chica To Mars Mural - Brownsville

Metroid EX: Theres a small update to the mural. There is a "Hello, my name is Luigi M." name tag that wasnt there before. If youre a fan of Elon, dont worry this wasnt vandalized. The artist himself @popc_ultre added it. Heres what he said on Instagram: "Elon called me (wonderful people) he told me to add "Hello, my name is Luigi M." He loved the mural.

Boca Chica Wildlife Refuge - Brownsville

Ben Ortiz: It was great. A lot of debris washed ashore. Lots of shells on the sand. Drive on the beach if you can 4x4 or AWD recommended .

Heather Bishop: It’s a small parking lot to see the border wall and Rio Grande river. Safe to be at, had a border patrol officer on US side on the outside and inside of the fence. Nice place to visit. Got some good photos.

Sviatoslava Glukhova: Its not only Morgue but many more old buildings. Very pretty - just like you are walking in a museum. Loved the walk! Come and look around. Dont forget to find a hidden fountain

Yvette Soto: This is a great place to visit any time of day or night. Walk/Trail runs along through. Coffee shop, Gladys Porter Zoo and Arts Museums and more to see. Many local events take place at this location.

Kaitlyn _ resonant_wizard_6: Its a nice place over all but the playground part itself is really small and its always busy after school and on weekends. There are pretty nice walking trails that go around the park with lots of palm trees. There are a ton of picnic tables with grills and outlets so great place to charge up your devices. The splash pad looks like its nice but it was off most of the times we went and then they have the cascade part of the park next to it with a pool of water at the bottom but your not allowed to swim in it. Which is ridiculous its right next to the dish pad, it would be so nice for them to allow swimming in it.

Centro Cultural Cameron Park - Brownsville

Sandra Spasojevic: Great place for the little once. A little dirty and you have to keep your eye out on traffic . It’s usually busy and you have to wait for a swing. Its shaded with a tarp and has great cushion like grass. Lots of activities going on at this park.

Costumes of the Americas Museum - Brownsville

Ayde Huerta: I enjoyed looking at the costumes and thinking about what it was like at the time when the owners were wearing them. I spoke with the attendant and she mentioned how careful they have to be to keep these dresses and outfits from deteriorating. She mentioned the other countries and time periods they have in storage and how they rotate every so often. I plan to go back when those are displayed too. Its a small museum, but very interesting indeed.
