  • Rage Cage - Galveston
    Rage Cage
    H. Baird Hightower: I took my best bud here as a surprise for his birthday. He is the strong, silent type, and I figured he would benefit from a little breakage therapy. I looked into smash rooms in the area, and ultimately decided to give my business to Rage Cage because 1) I grew up in G-town and wanted to give back to the island, and 2) the Google reviews are outstanding and for good fkn reason! John and Ronin are pretty badass, and my buddy and I had THE BEST TIME!! We both did an Exorcism Package, which included everything (axe/knife/star throwing, air soft, smash room, and sumo suit wrestling). We had the place all to ourselves, and we got to play our own raging playlist, even though what was already playing was pretty much on point with what we wanted to hear. It’s super cool there, and once you finish an activity you get to sign the wall. After going wild in the Rage Room, we were both out of breath, sweaty, and felt like we’d just had a relaxing massage. The sense of relief is transcendent. Relaxed. Free. I recommend you go nuts and come out sore; you will not regret it! The owner, John, has a real passion for customer service, and because of it, my buddy had the best birthday! I saw him smile for the first time after being withdrawn for quite a while. He felt so great after visiting here, he even agreed to go to a party later that night (which he NEVER does). Of course, the release from all the activities themselves was great, but I seriously doubt that we would have had the same experience at a different smash room joint. It was the atmosphere provided by John and his genuine want to show us a good time. Give this place a chance; you won’t be disappointed. And if you are, get the hell out of the way and make room for me, because I will definitely be back!
Texas City Museum - Texas City
    Texas City Museum
Tudor Teodorescu: Texas City Museum has one of the most beautiful and detailed model train displays. I spent 2 hours admiring the sets. The other exhibits are also worth visiting to learn about the history of Texas City.
Halfmoon Shoal Lighthouse - Texas City
    Halfmoon Shoal Lighthouse
Bruce K.: A replica today, this lighthouse stands along the levee known as Skyline Drive. It is a scale model of the actual Halfmoon Shoal Lighthouse which was located about 2.5 miles of the Texas City shore line from 1855 to 1900. Sadly, a storm in 1900 caused a steamship to break free from its moorings and it drifted into the structure, destroying it and killing keeper Charles K. Bowen. This replica has several signs with historical and geographical information. Its worth a stop as you explore Texas City. Note that Skyline drive is a one-way route so when youre done here, its a full loop back around to access the dike.
Bay Street Park - Texas City
    Bay Street Park
Bruce K.: Bay Street Park is, yes, on Bay Street and that means theres a great view of the Houston Ship Channel and the Texas City Dike from here. A large park that includes backstops, fishing piers, soccer fields, a sand volleyball park, walking trails, covered shelters and both portable and permanent restrooms. I had a nice walk around, a bit of sunshine, a lot of onshore breeze. There is plenty of parking here.
    Rainbow Park - Texas City
    Rainbow Park
Erwin Keith (Vaelkyrie): This is my kids favorite park. They ask to go here every weekend. Two sets of swings, a couple different play equipment areas. Always plenty of other kids to interact with.
    Lagoonfest Texas - Texas City
    Lagoonfest Texas
Martha McKenzie: Fun in the Sun for All Ages! Lagoonfest was such a blast! From the moment we arrived, the energy was vibrant and the setup was perfect for a day of summer fun. The water was clean, refreshing, and the activities were nonstop — from obstacle courses and paddleboarding to lounging under umbrellas with a drink in hand. There were plenty of food options, music, and spots to chill when you needed a break from the sun. It’s the perfect mix of excitement and relaxation. Whether you’re going with friends, family, or solo, Lagoonfest is definitely worth checking out. I’ll be back for more sun, splashes, and good vibes! The swimming area is not deep. It’s probably 3 1/2-4 feet. The only deep water 10 feet is where the activities (obstacle course, kayaking) are.

    Texas City Prairie Preserve
David Snow: This is a beautiful place, however this could be better kept if they got the funding, but this is Texas and the environment isnt taken care of that well for economic reasons.. When I volunteered there, progress was slower than it should have been. I had some ideas to better the place and get things done, but they want to run it the way they want to...Whatever, I hope it all works out. Best of luck to Aaron, the workers, and the TNC!
    Kemah Boardwalk - Kemah
    Kemah Boardwalk
FATIMA HAQ: Came here on a Monday afternoon and it was fun! Not many people so there was hardly any wait. We loved the roller coaster, wheel of fire and Pharoah ride! Vanilla Ice cream cone at the funnel cake shop is delicious. Two of the rides were under maintaince which was slightly disappointing…overall it was a fun experience

Paul Love: Very nice and peaceful at the park for early morning fishing. First time fishing at the park. Caught a few nice size fish. (catch/release)
