Family Hospital at Lake Travis - Austin (TX)

2 /5 Jennifer Kirilova: We came here since we live super close by and I thought it would be quick, I was very wrong. They are super understaffed, idk how they are even able to be open? My son and husband had to knock (rather loudly) on the door to the back area after they had been waiting in the lobby and not seeing anyone. They have been there since a little before 4 am and still have not been discharged. It is now 7am. They’ve been waiting over an hour for “paperwork” to be printed? Great care, but I feel they need to address the staffing problem before continuing to see people in the emergency department. Next time we will go to Dell children’s as it’s much further but they are able to get us in and out at the same rate, if not quicker.

4 /5 S Sh: I took my daughter to the emergency clinic for pneumonia yesterday, and the experience was very slow. The paperwork, waiting room time, X-rays, and getting the results all took much longer than expected. It was unclear if the delays were due to staffing issues or something else. While the care was good, the inefficiencies made the visit stressful.

2 /5 Tiffany Machnic: Unfortunately, I had an awful experience at the one in Lake Travis. I went in knowing what was wrong (post surgery complication) while explaining to the doctor that I had spoken with my surgeon and he advised I come here (I was in extreme pain-pain meds not needed to confirm that’s not what was the issue); the doctor on duty repeatedly corrected me stating I had not spoken to my doctor and then informed me he was my doctor now. My husband and I were in utter shock at the arrogance and ego. Knowing I needed help I quickly started playing into his ego so that I could get the assistance needed. As his nurse was finally allowed to assist me and take care of the issue, he came back in to tell me he “Hoped I had learned my lesson and that I should let future doctors know how my body reacts to general anesthesia.” I had not had surgery in over 7 years and being this was a completely different type of surgery did not expect this outcome. The way I was treated was awful. Bedside manner and patient care was not the doctor’s priority. I am giving it two stars as that poor nurse did everything she could to help and you could tell she was not excited to be working with Dr. Johnson. The gentleman at front desk was quick to get me to a room, but the doctor was hands down the worst doctor I have had to encounter in my lifetime. I will avoid this ER at all costs.

5 /5 Donny Brown: They made sure that all of my needs were met, even when I could smoke I got off of black without introducing any other drugs in my system. They just looked out for me, I would highly recommend it they were wonderful.

5 /5 S G: The people here really were fantastic to me. I was hit with stomach pains, and everyone from the front desk, to the nurse, to the doctor, to the radiologist were so kind and informative. While I waited for results, they kept me informed and comfortable. And, most importantly, they laughed at my nervous jokes and made me feel safe and seen. While I havent been billed yet, I am optimistic that they handled it appropriately because they communicated with me through the process during check in. Another reviewer said they had an issue with billing; if an issue does come up, Ill report it. But if you dont hear back from me, this is a good place to go.
