The walking paths are great, tons of wildlife, great diversity of habitats from desert to wetlands, and indoor controlled climate exhibits in a central installation of the venue. There are multiple places to stop and rest, however, indoor air conditioning might be a consideration for those in concern. And not that a couple going on a date need to be fit as fiddler ferns, let the heat grow that transpiration up and escape to a great urban botanical afternoon delight!
If you need help doing it, slow down and observe the birds and the bees. And if you’re still unsure or curious, there are plenty of labels, and many wonderful species, in well established gardens. This garden has love all through it with innumerable memory markers and looks to be solid donors supporting this awesome community space. If one would question if Texans’ love for plants and nature, and respecting, learning, and sharing nature, you’ll find no doubt here!

The Alamo - San Antonio Erico El Chico Rico: The Alamo is a place that is definitely worth seeing at least one time in your life. There is a slight discount if you are a military veteran or a first responder which is nice. Theres also a gift shop where you can buy T-shirts and books and things like that. Overall it is a very nice exhibit pretty well maintained and professional and if you know about the history it is very interesting to go around and see everything and imagine how it happened. There is a pretty amazing collection of all of the ordinance and rifles, cannonballs and so forth as well as a lot of different pictures from history. You will leave this place with a sense of deep thought and remembrance about the significance of history and where we are today.
San Antonio River Walk - Asim Kiani: Visiting the San Antonio River Walk was truly magical—it’s one of the most scenic places in Texas! Walking along the river, we were surrounded by stunning greenery, with all kinds of plants, trees, and charming bridges adding to the beauty.
We took a taxi boat for a tour, which made the experience even more special, allowing us to take in the incredible sights from the water. The restaurants along the river had an amazing vibe and atmosphere, with friendly people and great food to complete the experience.
If youre ever in San Antonio, this place is **definitely** worth seeing! The perfect mix of nature, culture, and relaxation.
Tower of the Americas - San Antonio Keith Youngblood: Really cool tower. Price was good Thanks for the Veteran discount. It was great that it was an all day ticket. We went up during the day and then went back to watch the sunset. We didnt do any of the films but it was nice that they were included in the ticket price. Penny smashers are what led us to this place. The tower has an awesome view of the city and if you know where to look you can see the missions of the national park. There is a cool map all the way around the tower that lets you know what youre seeing in the city and beyond.
Hemisfair - Deiondra Lyn: Place where all the events happen! Great for kids & Dogs.
Bring your chairs, bug spray, wagons, blankets & chill, read, play & enjoy. That’s the vibe for this place.
There’s also a great playground and little pool (free) . So take advantage ( but clean up after yourself) .
Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours & Oddities Parlor - San Antonio Dominique Moore: I went on the haunted bus tour with my mom and we had lots of fun! We went on the 8 pm tour and our tour guide Sean was an awesome character! Cindy was our bus driver and really funny. The whole experience was great and entertaining. Lots of history in the city of San Antonio! We loved the cemetery tour the most because it was creepy and dark. The Menger hotel was also really cool and drop dead gorgeous. We love antiques and that was this whole hotel!
San Antonio Zoo - San Antonio Memphis Reyne: This Zoo is incredible and definitely one of my favourites by far. The park is well presented, clean and tidy. Its easy to walk around being flat for the most part , its easy to navigate the layout and find the animal exhibits. The animals are clearly on display for great uninterrupted photo opportunities. The areas are themed nicely.
Outside of the park there is a small train ride around the grounds, a short walk to the Japanese Tea Gardens and a Starbucks just opposite the entry.
This is definitely a top 2 if not the best zoo Ive seen so far and is a must visit if youre in San Antonio
La Villita Historic Village - San Antonio The Stork Got Lost: A great stop and must add to your San Antonio itinerary. There are plaques outside each house. Some beautiful shops, a church, and fun little shops!! Right off the river walk with concerts some evenings and forum seating
Ripleys Believe It or Not! - San Antonio Mark Schlafman: This rating is mainly the lackluster 4D movie experience. It was nothing like what you’d expect - dirty glasses, a seat that moved many years ago, very short scenes, and poor image quality on the screen. The staff was great, but they were spray painting inside when we got there about 30-40 minutes after they opened up for the day. We did the two-way “deal” and the other was the illusions, which was good and we did enjoy it. It’s not bad if you’re looking for a quick 45 minute distraction from the river walk
