5 /5 S P Fletcher: The kind of botanical gardens principally showing off native plants! Why are conservative ecological principles so important - go to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens to find out! The walking paths are great, tons of wildlife, great diversity of habitats from desert to wetlands, and indoor controlled climate exhibits in a central installation of the venue. There are multiple places to stop and rest, however, indoor air conditioning might be a consideration for those in concern. And not that a couple going on a date need to be fit as fiddler ferns, let the heat grow that transpiration up and escape to a great urban botanical afternoon delight! If you need help doing it, slow down and observe the birds and the bees. And if you’re still unsure or curious, there are plenty of labels, and many wonderful species, in well established gardens. This garden has love all through it with innumerable memory markers and looks to be solid donors supporting this awesome community space. If one would question if Texans’ love for plants and nature, and respecting, learning, and sharing nature, you’ll find no doubt here! Hit the gift shop on the way in and grab a popsicle and then pop in again on the way out and pickup some heartfelt items as gifts to your friends or to bring home some quality to your home. Imagine a world where we humans saw the whole planet as worshipful as a human made botanical gardens!?!! A visit to a botanical gardens might be a great way to start getting out in nature more! 5 /5 Els: Amazing and relaxing experience! It was not busy at all which made the gardens feel so serene. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had plenty of time as the gardens were open until 8 pm. We started at the orchid and cacti conservatories and were in luck because the orchids were in bloom! Beautiful arrangements with dazzling colors and shapes greeted us in the orchid garden. A great place to take pictures. The palm house was unfortunately closed for renovation, which was a bummer as that is usually my favorite part. The square between the conservatories was nicely maintained and had a little pond with water lilies and turtles. The cacti conservatory was a bit small in my opinion, a few cacti had flowers, but overall slightly underwhelming. We followed the Texas Native Trail which guided us around the gardens. I liked that they included this as it was cool for us to see what plants are native to this part of the world. The trail took us around a small lake with a waterfall and turtles basking in the sun. A relaxing space to sit down and have a snack. We ended our visit by visiting the sensory and Japanese gardens. The latter was a bit small but thoughtfully laid out. We spotted a red cardinal a couple of times, which was a fun bonus. They have many toilets which are very clean and water filling stations at various locations.

5 /5 Bill Clark Jr: The San Antonio Botanical Garden is beautiful place to visit. Go when you have time to wander slowly. They have a new educational/social center. They also have an on-site full service restaurant with fantastic tasting food. I was there for lunch and it was packed. Although looks upscale our dishes were reasonably priced. My out of town guests were very impressed, as was I. I highly recommend a visit to the restaurant. I definitely will be going back. And don’t miss the gift shop. The new gift is outstanding! Lots of high quality merchandise for reasonable prices. Please that the VIA bus Stops at the Park at Broadway & Funston Pl. It is long, but pleasant walk to the Garden, so wear supportive shoes.

5 /5 Kimber Wisener: The botanical garden in San Antonio is a tranquil place to walk through. There are so many beautiful things growing and thriving. The grounds and displays are lovely and tended with care. There are places children can run out in the open with no worry of bumping into people and you’ll find lots of shade and places to sit as you observe the beauty around you. There is also a sweet little flowing mini-creek for kids to splash in on those hot summer days! Definitely worth a visit with friends and family, which is what we did. It was the best!

5 /5 Kaleigh Watson: Gorgeous scenery. Kids area available for family fun. Recommended to bring swim wear for kids area. Many places to sit and read privately as well. Couple of longer trails available for those who want a long walk.
