4 /5 MB La Verdad: Love the views, stopped by quickly for a quick walk on the beach. I did feel like corpus over all was a bit run down.

1 /5 The Weedman: There are stalker guys on 4 wheelers that "work" on the brach. Guess they miss a lot of trash driving back and forth up and down the beach over 10 times PER DAY! this beach also has visitors that go around and take pictures of homeless sleeping since thats the only picture worthy thing in this area. Also noticed a couple of cars that followed me around the beach training my dogs ON LEASH! For stalking me on the beach, everyone missed all the trash all over the beach! They have a sign saying "leave it better then you found it" and give YOU bags to clean for FREE while the guys getting paid is missing tons of trash, glass, and needles on the beach! Shoes are a must!! Cops here hang out and watch too and miss all of those, apparently. Guess giving tickets on the bridge next to this beach is more important.

1 /5 Britt: This is the part between north Beach and the area called "dolphin park beach", so right in the middle. The sand is rough and full of rocks and broken shells, the water has signs about submerged objects meaning there are huge rocks randomly in the water so be careful. Not sure what was in this area of the water but it made me very itchy and break out in red spots in a few areas, felt like something bite or stung me but we didnt see any jellies here so not sure what the issue was. Not enjoyable tho. There are showers and bathrooms right next to the beach before the parking lot so that was nice. Lovely view of the Lexington, lots of buildings around tho so thats lame. But any other area of the beach is better than this spot, wont be back here.

4 /5 Adrian Mcmillan: Amazing and camt wait to go back just hope it doesnt take another 25 yrs to get to actually go last time I went I was 4 yrs old 29 current bout to be literally 30 in few months actually thinking about bringing my 3 kids this summer depending really just on the covid-19 pandemic as it continues getting worse day by day Corpus Christi was absolutely amazing and delightful really first time been able to go since myself was indeed a 4 yr old lil girl so glad I had gotten the chance to go and cant wait for it to be summer yay...

Be aware as is the surroundings, youre in the open so be prepared for uneven ground and heat. Its conveniently located off the access road at the mouth of a neighborhood so theres easy parking.

Don Harrington Discovery Center - Amarillo

Noel Lee: Wow! What an awesome place! This is the hot spot for your junior naturalist/future scientist! We were passing through from Colorado and looking for somwhere to take the kids on our route. Our 4 year old twins had a blast! We enjoyed it as well! It was hard to pick a favorite because every part was great! I did love the tree house area with the scat and track displays and the birds of prey taxidermy! We didnt realize how fun it would be and wish we couldve stayed longer. We stayed about 3 hours. In that time we explored the whole center and even got to watch a movie in the planetarium. The gift shop was small, but very affordable! Check this place out ESPECIALLY if you have kids!

The Bug Ranch - Amarillo

Sandefur Laine (Vivian): Fun stop, easy to get to and free to enter. Good photo ops but the cars are all close together so watch out for spray painting and stay upwind of it. Ive gone to the original bug ranch for decades so I had to see where the bugs had been moved to, definitely doesnt have the same ambiance but its still fun.

Historic 6th Street Sign - Amarillo

Tracy Torbett: Stopped by on a Sunday morning 8/4/24. Easy to walk to the sign to get photos. The area can get crowded and busy but we visited at a good time. Lots of antique shops, boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants line the street. There’s still some Route 66 vibe. Worth the stop to see and walk the strip!

Helium Time Columns Monument - Amarillo

E. Larry Cantú: I spent my formative teenage years in Amarillo, Texas. I escaped as soon as I could. I don’t mean to suggest that Amarillo is a boring place, but it does have a monument to helium (an inert gas). I could understand a monument to nitrous oxide. THAT could have really been a gas. But a monument to HELIUM, really? I wonder whose idea that was. The good news about the helium exhibit is that there is never a line and, despite the rather small parking lot, parking at the helium times columns monument is never a concern. The only real downside to the helium times columns monument is that it is located in Amarillo, Texas. But look on the bright side, once you’re in Amarillo you have the best beaches, mountains, snow skiing and big city night life 500-600 miles in any direction!
