E. Larry Cantú: I spent my formative teenage years in Amarillo, Texas. I escaped as soon as I could.
I don’t mean to suggest that Amarillo is a boring place, but it does have a monument to helium (an inert gas). I could understand a monument to nitrous oxide. THAT could have really been a gas. But a monument to HELIUM, really?
I wonder whose idea that was.
The good news about the helium exhibit is that there is never a line and, despite the rather small parking lot, parking at the helium times columns monument is never a concern.
The only real downside to the helium times columns monument is that it is located in Amarillo, Texas. But look on the bright side, once you’re in Amarillo you have the best beaches, mountains, snow skiing and big city night life 500-600 miles in any direction!
S Darko: This spot is a concrete canvas for talented artists to show their skiĺls off. Really, if you enjoy top-notch graffiti or just love art in general, this is a place worth stopping in at.
Dave B.: The museum was very interesting in the fact that its displays are equipment that you dont see at other museums. The people there are very pleasant and knowledgeable about the trains they have there. They also have a large model train club layout in the building that is still under construction but does run.
Jerry Grosenick: The museum was decent. The gentleman who took outside to look at the planes and helicopter was excellent. Glad he showed and explained everything to us.
Suzanne Pike: Beautiful home, built in 1914, with exquisite furnishings.
Great tour, but be forewarned that while this is a free tour, they only schedule tours on two weekday mornings per week, with only a few tours on each of those days, and a very small number of guests per tour, so you must book in advance.
Huge 4 story home.....tours include 3 of the floors...house had amazing features for when it was built. The artwork, rugs, and furnishings were amazing.
The volunteer docents are very knowledgeable about the home and its furnishings, and gave a wonderful tour.
In my opinion, this museum is a cant miss when visiting Amarillo.
c S: Did not know that so much went on here... i have watched so many pokemon go searchers... when the downtown projects are completed... I am sure it will give me a new place to add to my drives
Summer Adcock: Small quiety and friendly. Good for small aged children that dont know how to fully regulate their emotions and accepting non judgemental parents who understand.
