5 /5 Donna Jean: My husband had a stroke last November when we were in Texas visiting our son. My husband was transferred to Baylor Scott. It turned out to be a godsend that if he had to have a stroke that it happened while we were in Texas. The entire staff on their neurological floor were amazing. He was an ICU for 6 days. The doctors explained everything to him in great detail, letting him know why some course of treatments would be better to pursue than others. The ICU nurses were amazing. I wish that I had written down their names to put on this review. Just when I would think that one of the nurses we had couldnt be topped another one stepped in and managed to top the prior nurse. Im not sure how they did it because like I said, they were all amazing! A special shout out to Mitzi in the records department. She was instrumental in making sure that we had all my husbands medical records and scans to bring back with us to Florida so that the doctors here would have all the information they needed to continue his treatment. I wish that we had the Baylor Scott Health Care System here in South Florida. If you have a loved one on the neurological floor just know that they are receiving the best care that they can get in the entire country.

4 /5 D C: I have been to the urgent care clinic in Temple and tried getting an appointment with my primary doctor hoping to avoid the ER. My primary doctor was not available for 2 months, and the urgent care was terrible. My son had a sore chest and throat, coughing up yellowish green phlegm, and ran a fever along with chills. The Temple Urgent Care Dr tested for covid and strep since both tests were negative; he was sent home with only medication for sore throat. Five days later, hes getting worse and having to go to the emergency room because he couldnt breathe well. The ER Drs gave him antibiotics and an inhaler. Hes finally getting well. It seems to me that if the urgent care clinics did a better job, fewer people would have to be at the ER. It would also help if one could actually get a Drs appointment too. The whole medical community in Temple should be revamped to meet the needs of the community. It seems as though the area has grown in population, but the hospitals and drs are not growing with the community needs.

5 /5 Christine Bengtson: I have been a patient for about 2 years when I first started having tingle sensations. My primary care doctor knew I needed to be seen and made calls for me to been seen by a neurologist here almost immediately. I have had MRI’s and Spinal Taps done here, and even went to the ER to get a Blood patch done. Every single person I have an encounter with is so friendly and nice. From nurses, doctors, and sign in staff, everyone is accommodating and helpful. I recommend Baylor Scott and White to everyone I talk to.

5 /5 Tracy Irvin: I have been struggling with a rare chronic illness for most of my life. It causes intense pain and daily extreme nausea, and frequent vomiting. I did not go here in the beginning but a very kind doctor had me transferred here by ambulance and it’s the best thing that’s happened for my health in many many years. The people here are so kind. Nurses and doctors alike. I’m not used to such good care. As a matter of fact I’ve been a victim of hospital isolation, gaslighting, I’ve been yelled at and cussed out for seeking treatment. I’ve been ignored (so much so that even when the nurses did come in they wouldn’t look or speak to me) here every single concern I have has been noted and addressed. I’ve seen doctor after doctor and no one, and I mean NO ONE has done anything meaningful to increase my quality of life. Here they’re coming up with a discharge plan so hopefully I don’t have to go back in a few days when I can’t get enough fluids in. I’ve seen 8 wonderful doctors since I’ve been here, and I’m actually hopeful for a solution, or at least something better than what I’m doing now. I’ve been surviving my life. Not living it. From the bottom of my heart thank you for the kindness of your staff, and the attention to the real problem. I’ll never go anywhere else.
