1 /5 ThePineapple1802: So I had a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse that needed a water pump replaced. Art Sosa came out to view the car and collected $177 to start work the next day. He rescheduled for a family emergency which is understandable, family emergencies happen all the time and we never know when this is going to happen. The next day came around and he rescheduled again saying that he wasnt feeling well after an electrical job that he did on a vehicle out in the sun. He was very apologetic in all of his text messages and did respond.
When he finally came out to my car to replace the water pump my motor mount would not come off. I know that Mitsubishi can be an absolute pain in the butt but I knew that my motor mount did not need to come off to get to the water pump. Mr. Art Sosa wanted to break my motor mount off for an extra $40 saying that it must have been welded in or must have been glued in.
My boyfriend and I were the ones that replaced that motor mount and we did not weld it in and we did not glue it in yes it was a pain to get in but that is because the bolts are not completely straight. Either way we both knew that the motor mount did not need to come out at all to get to this water pump. The water pump can be accessed by going underneath the car instead. I will admit it is a lot easier not having the motor mount there but there was really no need for it to come out.
My boyfriend did have a conversation with mr. Art Sosa and he will admit he may have been condescending when talking to him. But again this is because we both knew that the motor mount did not need to come out at all. Mister art Sosa use the famous line "I have been a Certified mechanic for 30 years I know what Im talking about."
We may be amateur mechanics but my boyfriend did grow up around mechanics and knows his way around an engine and again knew that the motor mount did not need to come out. After speaking with my boyfriend now I can imagine that mr. Art Sosa was upset I no longer wanted to continue the job. My boyfriends mother even offered to pay the extra $40 to get the motor mount off but he did not want to do the job after talking to my boyfriend
I pretty much paid him $177 to come look at my car, wait two days and then have him take my tire off and put it back on. I would not recommend this mechanic to anyone at all. Has very poor work ethics and is unable to work around obstacles. Please if youre reading the comments look elsewhere for a mechanic to come out and fix your car.
