2 /5 Kimberly Merriott: I am chronically ill (childhood epileptic) and have a really rough time getting my prescriptions refilled which seems a bit crazy to me. Dr. Burson does not respond to calls from pharmacies. And has not responded to my calls for a refill this whole week. I’m running out of meds and options. I wish some people took epilepsy as seriously as I am forced to. Also it seems they only bill once every quarter. My bill this quarter was almost $400. If I got billed promptly, I would and can pay it. It seems as if the bills piling up may have something to do with the blatant refusal to refill my medication. All of which could be remedied by AFP.

1 /5 Hayden Cook: Wow, there are a lot of bad reviews here. I didnt see them before I made my first appointment as I was referred. Quickly got a bad taste, though, and canceled. Initially, I was told Id get a text confirming my appointment, and then they called instead. Not a big deal at all! If anything, I preferred the call. However, asking for a text as well, since I was driving and couldnt write down the address, was a crazy concept that warranted sarcasm and a patronizing tone, lol. In the grand scheme of things, its not a big deal, but thats the last thing I want to endure while scheduling or relaying information to my doctor in the future, so its a pass for me....Unfortunate, since I had to wait a while for an appointment.

1 /5 Timothy Brown: Most frustrating business office in the history of doctors offices. Every time I call they have sent some type of bill to collections. Here is a novel idea call me and I will pay my bill! Ridiculous way to run a business. Dr. Malone is a great guy and Doctor. Wish his business office didn’t suck!

1 /5 cathy g: Used Tonia Hudson several times and really liked her. Then they refused to get me an appointment with her because they said she wasn’t taking new patients. Told them that I had never seen the doctor they wanted me to see and had seen Tonia several times and was not a new patient. Still refused and was extremely rude and disrespectful. I won’t be using them any more.

5 /5 Stoat: Amarillo Family Physicians has provided me excellent service! I was looking for a new PCP and I was scheduled with Dr. Burson, she and all of the other staff are very kind and listened to my concerns and provided great treatment options. I also am currently going to their allergy clinic and it’s been excellent as well! I definitely recommend this facility if you are looking for PCP care.

M M: My experience with VA Amarillo has been deeply troubling and profoundly damaging. I have faced multiple unauthorized disclosures of sensitive medical information, including records related to PTSD ***, which are extremely personal and sensitive. These breaches have caused severe emotional distress, significantly worsening my mental health symptoms. Despite VA employees being required to undergo annual HIPAA training to safeguard veterans’ information, these violations occurred multiple times and were reported directly by me to the Privacy Officer—not by the employees who were aware of these misconduct incidents. One particularly egregious breach involved my sensitive information being shared without any justification. Yet, accountability and proper safeguards remain glaringly absent. As a disabled veteran, I rely on the VA for care and trust that my personal information will be treated with the highest level of confidentiality and respect. These violations have shattered that trust, leaving me retraumatized, often crying and shaking for hours daily. I urge VA Amarillo to take immediate action to address these issues, implement stricter privacy protocols, and hold those responsible accountable. No veteran should ever have to endure this level of negligence and gross misconduct. I no longer feel safe at this VA facility and fear additional harm if these issues are not urgently addressed.

Gloria Perez: I saw Courtni, NP and her nurse, Samantha. Both ladies were very knowledgeable and took time to make sure I understood everything we discussed. I was very pleased with my visit and definitely recommend these ladies to other patients. The receptionist was not as pleasant. She was very short and not once looked me in the eye. It seemed her only concern was taking my payment. When I asked for a note for work she acted as if it was a bother for her to print it & stamp the Drs signature - which took less than a minute to do.

Ana King: I usually take my son elsewhere for sick appointments because there were never any slots left when I tried to get him in, but the lady who got us in today was so helpful. Her phone etiquette was amazing. The new NP my son saw today was great as well. Addressed my concerns and had a caring tone when speaking to my child. The reason I’ve leaving a 2 star vs a higher review is due to the MA or LVN who called my son back. She was very non caring/rude and impatient in my opinion. I’m not saying anyone has to baby my son, but when working in a pediatric clinic it’s somewhat expected to speak with compassion or at least the bare minimum respect. Overall our interaction was very minimal since I requested her not coming back in due to her tone and statement made. As someone who works in the medical field she should work on how she speaks to children.
