griffin rogers Well, my most exciting part about owning a vehicle…it’s gonna need service. I live in San Antonio, driving North, my car dies in San Marcos. She (my car) goes to Frank’s. From the first call to my last call, I was treated as if I lived around the corner. Chris was the gentleman that helped me get signed in…he told me, to head back to SA, he would get the team on the truck and get an estimate out, asap. The continued invest on my vehicle was important. The simple fact that they were honest, they had it broken down, per my budget and asked what did I want them to do. Honesty, friendly and understanding is all we could ask as customers…AND a running car. FRANK’S will take care of the issues & the high tech service we all want, with the small town Texas service. Not sure you will find it anywhere else. Thank you!

Sylvia Gutierrez Ive been going to Franks Automotive for about six years now. I went for an oil change, new wiper blades and had a brake light that was out and had it replaced. The Manager, told me exactly how much it would cost and it was very reasonable. Ive always had good results at Franks. Everyone is kind and friendly and helpful. I appreciate having an auto shop that I feel is trustworthy, reasonable and that I can depend on. Thank you for the great service.

Robert Townsend I Highly recommend Garcia Diesel & Repair Services! Im from out of town, but have work in the area. Limped my 2005 2500HD Duramax in with a wasted turbo. This team went way out of their way to get me back on the road, and didnt beat me up on the price. I can not thank them enough. They made me feel like family, and earned a loyal customer and friend.

Kevin Mease The team at this shop is friendly and generally pleasant to work with, which I truly appreciate. However, I’ve experienced several issues that raise concerns about the quality of their work and communication practices. On multiple occasions, there were problems following service—such as loose bolts and even a battery that was not reconnected. I also shared photos highlighting issues with the turbo installation, but never received a response. Communication has been a consistent struggle; getting updates often requires repeated follow-ups, and accountability is lacking. In one case, I was told I needed a new hydraulic pump, but it turned out to be a simple $115 hose replacement. The shop had even offered to buy the machine from me—at a significantly reduced price—based on their incorrect diagnosis. No other mechanics worked on the machine during this time, so the responsibility for the misdiagnoses and the faulty turbo installation lies solely with this shop. When I returned to report that the turbo they installed had already failed, I was told it wasn’t possible. Only after pressing for a second opinion—something I had to initiate—was the issue acknowledged. They did reply to my review, but failed to address the specific problems I raised post-installation. Efforts to follow up and provide clear evidence of the issues were ignored. It’s been difficult to reach anyone directly, and the shop has refused to take responsibility for recent work. There have been recent changes in management, and I sincerely hope those changes lead to improvements in both quality and customer communication.

Mia Bybee This place was wonderful! My cars compressor fan was ruined and they let me know that they needed to order the part, so it may had to wait until the next morning to actually fix it. They called me and said the part came in early and I got my car back that day! They were really good about communicating to me throughout the day. I think her name is Jay? But she is so kind and easy to talk to. Really everyone I met was super nice and positive. Nothing can compare to the relief of finally having a working air conditioner for a Texas summer. Thank you guys :)

Tunmise Adeleye Dishonest and Overpriced – Avoid This Shop I had an extremely disappointing experience at All Makes Collision in San Marcos. I brought my BMW in for a minor issue—a front sensor and a small bumper fix. The damage was minimal, yet the owner tried to charge me an exorbitant amount, drawing up a completely fake estimate of $400. He justified the price by claiming that my car is a BMW, which is a blatant rip-off tactic. To make matters worse, he told me the parts wouldn’t arrive until Tuesday and that the repair would take an hour and a half of labor. I knew the estimate was fake because the damage was superficial, and I suspected something was off. Instead of getting scammed, I decided to drive two hours to my trusted mechanic in Houston, Sonny T Auto Repair. I spent just $30 on gas, and when I got there, my car was fixed in 10 minutes for a total of $40—literally a fraction of what All Makes Collision was trying to charge me. This kind of shark-like behavior is dishonorable and preys on customers who may not know better. A business that operates this way deserves to lose customers. If you’re in San Marcos and need car repairs, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. All Makes Collision is just looking to exploit people, and I wouldn’t trust them with any repairs.

Alden Tree Came here for some dent repair some time ago. Super friendly people. Really, if only rating them on their attitude itd be an easy 5 star. Unfortunately, they managed to scratch up the paint on the car pretty badly while doing the dent repair. (I think someone leaned against the car while doing the roof. It was pretty noticeable.) When asked about it, they basically said there was nothing to do to fix it and that Im kinda out of luck. Id love to give them a higher review for how friendly they are, but I cant really give a good review for a repair job that left NEW damage that cant be reasonably fixed. (Basically: 5/5 Friendliness. 1/5 Service)

Wj Charlton I used to love this business bc they were reasonably priced, fixed only what was needed, and let me bring my own parts. I’ve had body work, brakes, and electrical work done with them. But they don’t do that any more. Tried to charge me $5,500 to fix a 2007 car - and come to find out it only needed spark plugs. They won’t let you buy parts direct bc they mark up the price 40% (after market) or 20% OEM. Different markup %, but same high profit bc OEM base price is much higher. At these prices, you’re better off going to the dealer bc they’ll be direct about what’s needed. All Makes tried to replace things that didnt need it. PS - I changed the plugs myself for $15 and it fixed it. PPS - and their policy is they don’t give refunds no matter what. Stereotypical sketch mechanic.

Samuel Abreu Theyre ok, a little bit on the low quality, my insurance picked this place for some reason, they fix a small fender bender on my audi TT, but the quality was awful, the clear coat started to peel off and they buffer the paint way too much i can almost could see the primer. I should had took it back to get it fixed but i needed my car and the insurance didnt wanted to keep paying for my trental. I had no choice but to take the way they did it. They need to get better at it.

Jonathan Bailey Would not recommend this place for 160 bucks they were supposed to diagnose battery drain and running rough. They said I had a bad battery, which i did, but they didn’t tighten my battery terminals or the battery bracket. The air filter box was open. They said i need a tune up. Bad spark plugs and coils. I go to change my plugs there is oil all over my plugs they didn’t even check to see why it had a missfire. All they did is hook up a scan tool and see miss fire and recommend a tune up. I honestly feel like I should get a refund. Will never go here again. Never should of trusted a shop from now on I will make the time to work on it myself. In the pictures you can see the air filter and the oil on the bottom of the coil pack.

They greeted me promptly and ensured all my questions were answered before starting any work. Communication was excellent. They kept me informed throughout the process, providing clear explanations of what needed to be done and giving me updates on the timeline. The quality of the tires and service exceeded my expectations. They took care of my vehicle with precision and care, ensuring everything was done right the first time. The pricing was very competitive and transparent. I feel I received excellent value for the quality of service and products I received. Overall, this was one of the best experiences I’ve had at an auto service center. I highly recommend Goodyear San Marcos for their outstanding service, quality, and fair pricing. Patrick Bradbury Watch these guys they may try to pull some fast ones on you. •Replaced my front brakes, which I knew were about ready for replacement, so thats good. And did a brake flush. Thanks for that. •They may have sold me an unnecessary service, namely control arm replacements. •Said I needed new sway bar links, but I just got that replaced recently so I said no to the service. Good thing I did, I guess, because when I rotated my tires earlier today I inspected them and checked them for play and there was none. As far as I could tell the sway bar links are good to go, no noticeable problems driving either. They must have loosened the bolts in the shop to make it appear as though they had play or something when they showed me because those things didnt budge when I messed with them today. •Said my battery was leaking acid. Took it back to where I recently got the battery from and they said there was no battery acid on the battery, nor was there a leak. The battery was fine. Apparently what good year thought was acid was actually the Vaseline I put on the terminals. Yes they dont know the difference between battery acid and Vaseline. Which as far as I know is a very common way of preventing corrosion. I didnt even think to question wether it was acid or not I figured theyd know better than me on that one, guess not... To be a bit more fair I did put a lot of Vaseline. All that said I do appreciate the brake service and the control arms were installed properly as far as I know, no driving problems or anything. I may have spent about $1000 more than necessary, not 100% sure on that though. So they get about 2.5 to maybe 3 stars, cant give a full five or even four because of the extra shenanigans. I may return only with a lot more caution... Hind sight is 20/20...
