5 /5 peter steers: This place hasn’t changed in 40 years. First rate bbq with awesome sides. I’m guessing the gracious servers are the kids that used to be running around back in the eighties when I ate here regularly. What a pleasant surprise to see the place was still open and better than ever. Thank you for such a wonderful and nostalgic meal. This is as good as Bbq gets in Texas!

5 /5 Carol Hannibal: We happened to be passing through Mexia and the yellow-and-red sign (and packed parking lot) caught our eye. This place did not disappoint! The heavenly sauce aroma made me almost too stupid to order, but dont worry, if that happens to you, too, the nice folks at Wrights will help you out! We got the sweet tea, sliced beef sandwich and warm peach cobbler. Do not skip the peach cobbler...the fruit is perfect, and you get cracker-crisp top AND bottom crust, caramelized with sugar. Absolutely wonderful BBQ.
