Not only is she amazing, but the Salon itself has the best atmosphere of any salon Ive ever been to, I immediately felt comfortable the second I walked in for my first appointment. Misty, the owner, is a complete doll, and is so welcoming and down to earth. I feel like Im hanging out with my girlfriends every time Im there, and I cant imagine going anywhere else. I would travel hours if I had to. This is my forever Salon, and Jessica is my forever Stylist!!! Best. Salon. EVER!

Anne Claxton I had been looking for a great stylist who would actually listen and really try to achieve what hair style/color I wanted (within reason) for years. I had always found people who either didn’t listen or weren’t able to do what I wanted. I found Jessica at salon envy after a quick google search. She was very helpful and pleasant from the beginning. What stood her apart from everyone else was that she wanted me to come in for a consultation to gauge where my hair was before she would commit to saying she could color my hair the way I was asking. I’ve hesitated writing this review (I’ve seen her for almost 2 years now) because I wanted to keep her all to myself. But I really won’t go anywhere else. The salon is always clean and peaceful. You won’t be disappointed.

Sheri Lancon Love Salon Envy! Misty does a beautiful job on my highlights and cuts! She makes wonderful recommendations. I always leave happy and with the color/cut I wanted! The atmosphere of the salon is very comfortable and relaxing. Misty cuts my sons hair as well and is very thourough with the cuts. She takes the time to listen to what he wants and makes sure he leaves happy! Great prices and customer service! 5 stars aren’t enough!

I have a TBI from attempted murder (2 skull fractures) I went & saw Emily H not only was she kind & VERY SWEET! But she took in consideration my head injury & asked step but step if x was ok and if it hurt.. u name it. This is a service u don’t and won’t find ANYWHERE

Kaye Adnohr I’ve been going to JCP hair salons for over 25 years in the state that I moved to Texas from. This was my first and last visit to the JCPenney salon here in Waxahachie. I made an appointment with Vickie on August 18, 2024. She couldn’t boast enough about the 47 years she had been doing hair, and how many older customers would only use her because of her experience and technique. This was absolutely by far the very worst hair color and cut I have ever received from any hair salon, much less JCP. Not to get personal, but she was wearing a black top and black pants with black shoes, and she was covered in pet hair. There was an odor about her that made me sick to my stomach. The salon opened at noon that Sunday and I came in minutes after she did. Her station was filthy with hair clippings, and I did not see a jar of that blue comb sanitizer anywhere in the place. Every brush and comb in her drawer was filthy, and I mean unbelievably filthy. The comb she used on me was originally white but is now dirty off white with gross black stuff between the teeth of the comb. Thank God I intended to wash my hair when I got home! I snuck one of the combs into the bathroom and washed it real good thinking I would just try and stick it out and at least get a decent haircut and color. I was wrong. She talked and talked and talked the entire time, not paying attention to a thing she was doing. I sent her a picture of the hairstyle/cut I’ve worn for the passed two years, and a recipe for my overall color, and the highlights which was given to me by my previous hairstylist… Who I miss terribly! I again showed her a photo of the style as a reminder of how I liked my hair cut, and as a supposed professional, she should’ve been able to follow the lines from my last haircut. She’s 66 years old, and said she had retired a few years ago, but found she needed to go back to work. After the job she did on my cut and color she should’ve stayed retired because she has no clue what she’s doing when it comes to hair. The overall color is not deep enough nor was it left on long enough, and you could still see traces of root color, which I have never seen before after a hair color. And she did not do proper foiled highlights, but rather just covered the all over color with blonde, in other words, there was no distinction between the low lights of the all over color and the highlights. The highlights look brassy, which again, has not happened to me in more than 10 years when an inexperienced hairstylist colored my hair and didn’t know what she was doing when we were on a long vacation. The cut is embarrassingly bad because it is actually a very simple cut. She did a blunt cut when I asked for a point cut, and she tapered areas like the hairstyles of the 1970s and 1980’s. She also claimed to have texturized my hair which I don’t know what her version of texturizing is because at no point did she twisted and snip or used texturizing scissors. Let’s just say this was a $220 mistake and I wouldn’t allow her to groom my miniature poodle. She is absolutely by far the worst JCPenney hair stylist I have ever had and she should retire and perhaps do simple men only cuts on the homeless. I find it hard to believe that she was ever a good hairstylist and then just got this bad as she aged. Vickie, let it go and retire. You can’t cut or color hair. Now I have to go pay a professional to fix her mess!

To simple hair cuts, beard trims and touch ups to keep you looking your best. Staff are friendly with a constant welcoming atmosphere. If you are looking for a chance to not only handle your necessary hair maintenance but a chance to slow down, meet some new people and make some long time friends. This is the place to go.

Aretha Riley Great experience! Ms. Laura and another lady did micro braids for me in 4 hours. She listened and left my edges alone. This is the first time my head hasn’t hurt after braids. The salon is beautiful inside and I will definitely be back. Thanks so much!!!

Sarah Brunner Raven, the salon owner, definitely impresses with my color (gradually getting more blond over time). She’s an artist at her craft & has an eye for detail. The whole salon has such a lovely atmosphere. Everyone is welcoming and I feel like you cannot go wrong booking with any one of the stylists.

Ronda Sutton I have known the owner since she was in grade school. Raven does awesome coloring and styling, she cares about her customers. Visit her salon today and feel like a million bucks when you leave!

Amanda Bertagnolli Angela has been doing my hair for two years. When I first started going to Angela, my hair was in very bad condition. The color was bad and I had a lot of damage. She had a plan as to how to get my hair back healthy and to the color that I really like. Her plan was successful. I’ve been enjoying my hair and it is so much more healthy than when I first started going to Angela. One of Angela‘s best qualities is that she truly listens to the client and tries to make sure that she gives them what they’re asking for. That’s been my experience.

Mapu Love, love going here for my hair therapy!!! My hair stylist Alyssa is awesome! Ive been going to her for over 10 years, I have moved away and still would see her for hair therapy every time I visited. Im back and still will drive an hour for my hair care! The owner is awesome too so I would definitely recommend this place with two thumbs up!

John C Had Molly take care of my hair and beard.. Did a great job with ensuring I was good with the overall cut as I am a bit particular on how my beard is cut and dont trust it to many to trim. For sure a new go to for my beard and hair needs.

She is great about giving you what you ask for and is honest with her opinions. She doesnt just try and sell you on a style she will talk you through the maintenance. She is also so patient with my daughter.

Libby Lane I will never shut up to anyone about HOW AMAZING THIS PLACE IS!!! First of all- the environment. I have never felt judged, or uncomfortable walking in this salon. Aside from my stylist, all of the girls are very kind and welcoming. Its a very chill vibe with very friendly people. Secondly, i have never been disappointed walking in to get my hair done. If I come in with something very specific, Mallory gets it exactly what I asked for in an affordable fast manner. If I say I want something like this but am open to your skills- she gets to know her customers likings and created a beautiful color or something she know I would love. These ladies all are very personable and not only do hair but get to know and retain their clients likings as well as comfortability. I will never change salons!!!!!! Highly highly recommend!

Brianna Dickel You’ve gotta go see Taryn, she’s the best! She will take such great care of you. It’s easy to text her and make an appointment. I love how the salon is styled in such a modern and updated style, I love the Kevin Murphy and Anika products they use! They are located in a really cool part of the historic downtown and are always doing fun events with the other local businesses. This is my second visit here, and I am a loyal customer!

Susan Fountaine My experience here was awesome. My hair stylist Brenda greeted me when I first entered the door. She had done my hair years ago, but I remembered her & got an appointment. My hair came out beautiful, very straight. I had her just to do loose curls. I will definitely be back as soon as I get extra bucks. Because hair stylist these days make dont make 15 cents. It takes some bucks, but that is okay. She is definitely worth it. Have a Merry Christmas & Blessed New Year everyone!

Romeo Achu My wifes hair was messed up at this location. First, we were asked to show up at 5:45AM, which we did. The hairdresser was not there. We had to call to get her off her bed, and she showed up late without an apology. She will not let my wife evaluate progress to make sure the right thing is being done. My wife decided to trust her. We paid for hair treatment, but we received just a hair wash and not treatment. Secondly, there is a stack difference between the picture of twisted braids that was used to request the service and what was done. The twisted braids were scanty on my wifes head. The hairdresser requested that we bring 5 packs of hair extension, but she used just one (hence the scanty braids on the head). The hairdresser scheduled multiple people on the same day and rushed through the braids because, at some point, she had to start multitasking between customers. We were completely dissatisfied with the job, and when I gave her feedback, she got defensive. I should have given it a 3 star if she would be punctual and accept feedback without putting up a show. Hair-do was unsatisfactory, and the stylist/hairdresser was impolite and defensive. I would give less than 1 star if it was possible. $280 spent + cost of extensions + time wasted +and poor services are the reasons I would not recommend this place to anybody.
