McKinney Knittery is a charming yarn shop tucked into the downtown area of McKinney, Texas. The shop is bright and airy, and feels welcoming the moment you walk in. The yarn selection is excellent, with a wide range of fibers and colors to choose from. It’s easy to take your time here and really enjoy looking through everything without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and happy to help with questions and suggestions. The location adds to the experience as well, being right in the middle of downtown makes it a fun stop while exploring the area. If you appreciate a cozy yarn shop with personality and a great selection, this one is worth visiting. I always enjoy stopping in when I’m in town.

I appreciated that they had a clean, open bathroom to use that didn’t require a key as bathrooms are hard to find in downtown stores. The colors are gorgeous and yarn selection huge. I loved the space set aside for knitting or crocheting. Such a lovely store!

5 /5 Hannah P: Everyone is super sweet and helpful! I love their complimentary yarn winding services. I wish I had known about this place sooner because they have classes which would’ve saved me a lot of time when I was teaching myself! Their selection is huge and perfect for crocheters, knitters, and quilters. I wanted to branch out with my yarn choices and I enjoy seeing the super cool colors from indie yarn brands and some local ones as well!

5 /5 June: Love this store! Great prices, great selection, awesome service! On my last visit they wound my yarn purchases so quickly and when I got home I found they added a McKinney Knittery stitch marker to my yarn! I love it and it makes me think of them often as I knit. The owners/ managers here know how to treat their customers! Can’t wait to come back to shop for my next project!

Ginger went above and beyond to help me get started, after I realized group class was not best fit for my skill level. Ginger was patient and kind, taking time to show me basic technique. Highly recommend this shop, wide selection, white glove service!
