3 /5 Sierra Fracht: Really cute store; from looking in the window, I wasn’t sure I’d anything in the store was quite my aesthetic, but I popped in anyway, lots of cute things! I was in town for a game and was looking for something cute to buy. The three girls huddled behind the register said “hello” as I came in and “goodbye” as I left, but they generally stayed huddled together the entire time I was in the store. They did, surprisingly, offer to put my items that I was gathering into a dressing room, but that is the end of the customer service offered. I would have certainly purchased something if they had interacted with me, recommended things, offered to get different sizes, etc. I was on the fence about a few pieces, and ultimately decided not to purchase, but in all honesty, I could have easily been swayed to buy if there had been a little customer service/ salesmanship. (I mean, seriously, if a 20 something year old says “oh that looks so good on you!” SO many people would be much more inclined to buy a product they are on the fence about… let’s be real people.)
Love what the store has to offer, but if I were the owner, I would teach the young women working there how to interact with customers and push merchandise.
Overall, there is a general lack of salesmanship in this whole area of Century Square. Maybe it’s because customer service is being lost these days, maybe it’s because these are young college kids working, but if this boutique wants to really stand out against its competitors, customer service should be a higher priority. These sweet young ladies need to be taught salesmanship (not fired, just taught properly how to push product).
Stepping off my soap box, just thought if I was the owner paying these young girls to work at my store, I’d want to know.
