Buckle - Wichita Falls (TX)

1 /5 James Green: Absolutely terrible experience with the store manager, Johsten. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this was too much to ignore. Johsten, the manager at Buckle in Wichita Falls, was shockingly rude — not just to me, but to my daughter as well. He made zero effort to help us, acted completely uninterested the entire time, and then literally told another employee to help me so I didn’t “mess up the quota.” That’s not how you treat customers OR your staff. The way I saw him treat his employees was awful — he was dismissive and talked to them like they were beneath him. Honestly, I don’t know how someone like this is in a management position. It made what should’ve been a simple shopping trip uncomfortable and frustrating. This is NOT a place I want to shop, and I won’t be coming back as long as he’s running the store. Do better, Buckle.

3 /5 Grace Alegria: I wanted to point out a few important things from my visit. When I first came in, I was greeted by a young red-haired associate named Loren. To be fair, her initial customer service was good — the standard friendly greeting of “How can I help you?” and asking what I was shopping for. I understand she’s still young, and I was surprised that most of the staff seemed to be teenagers. As my shopping continued, however, her approach became noticeably pushy. I’ve worked retail before, so I understand sales techniques and that some places are commission-based. She mentioned what items were on sale, which is normal, but then repeatedly came back to me very abruptly — asking for my opinions on clothes, suggesting fitting rooms, and trying to steer me toward items. These are valid sales methods, but the tone felt more forceful than helpful. At one point another associate (a young Hispanic woman) approached to ask if I needed help, and my husband noticed Loren giving her a sort of “mom look,” as if to claim me as her customer. He also saw her do this earlier with another coworker. Even while I was paying, she continued trying to sell perfume. I understand she’s hustling, and I respect that, but the overall experience came off as pushy rather than charismatic or genuinely helpful. A softer, more intuitive approach would feel more welcoming and less overwhelming for customers.

5 /5 Haylee Miser: Janaya is so sweet. She was very helpful to me and my grandma to find a undershirt. She is unbelievably amazing. Highly energetic! And she gives a very good first impression. It was our first time going to buckle we were just looking. Now we most definitely will be going back to buckle!

I was greeted by a young man who was very helpful in trying to assist me, but after a while, I just wanted some space to shop on my own. I understand it’s part of their job, but I did feel a bit overwhelmed. I ended up buying a shirt and leaving.
