5 /5 Dannielle Folden: A must see! So very neat! There are multiple fossils at this dig in process. Our kids absolutely loved this place. The rangers are extra friendly. We will definitely be back every time we come through just to see what they find next!

5 /5 travis mitchell: Really enjoyed my visit here. Friendly and very informative tour from the park ranger. Affordable and worth seeing the fossils that I would probably never see anywhere else. My favorite stop on my day trip to Waco. Picked up a beautiful geode at the gift shop on my way out.

4 /5 Kaela Jackson: We visited the Waco Mammoth site with a homeschool group. It was a good experience overall. The park ranger who led our tour was very knowledgeable and made the historical and scientific background really engaging for the kids and adults alike. The dig site itself is interesting, but just know that it’s all contained in one large room. We expected it to be a bit more expansive, so that part was a little underwhelming. However, seeing the fossils in person was still fascinating—especially for those who love paleontology or natural history. We didn’t explore the walking trails since it was pretty hot that day, but it looked like there are some nice paths to check out in cooler weather. The gift shop has some fun and educational items. Overall, its definitely worth visiting at least once if youre in the area.

4 /5 Danielle Henry: Stopped here on a road trip and knew I definitely wanted to see the mammoth bones and hoped my nine year old daughter would be interested. Did not realize it was a guided tour(should’ve read the reviews instead of just the website!). Learned a lot but our group was just four adults and my daughter and she was bored. The information was great but the delivery felt like being in a classroom. That being said, she did like looking around and being able to see where digging was occurring and what other animal fossils had been found. The ranger allowed for questions at the end of the tour and my daughter asked a few and left with some knowledge she took home to tell her dad. Worth a drive if you’re in town visiting other things, the price really is not bad at all.

4 /5 Jim Mcdonald: What a wonderful stop this was while visiting Waco. Its amazing how theyre displaying the bones they have found while allowing continued digging. The enclosed building over the site is keeping it preserved. You can walk around and directly over the dig. It takes a short walk through the woods to get to it, but its a nice walk, not very strenuous at all. We took a guided tour and enjoyed it. The guide was courteous and informative. Well worth the time & small entry fee to visit!
