E Valdes: Island Church is an "abundantly above more than you can think or imagine" church. The power of God is present. Fiery prayer on Saturday night eradicates anything contrary to the Word of God. The Spirit led worship is incredible. The Word of God is preached and taught with zeal. Pastors Rusty and Leah are excellent leaders. Thank you Lord.
Brian Barnes: I visited recectly on Fathers Day while on vacation in Galveston. What an unbelievably friendly group of volunteers. They made us feel welcome, and even though we were only going to be there for one visit, they made us feel like family. Pastor Trey was funny, engaging, and most importantly, presented sound Biblically based teaching. If I ever visit again or move to Galveston, this is where I would go again and be glad to call these folks my brothers and sisters in Christ.
B Von: Love this church. Small enough that the Pastor knows my name (keeps me accountable), Big enough to spread a LOT of love. Praise group are infinitely talented! Bible based teaching! Love it!
Cheri Wood: Love this church. The pastors are great. Very knowledgeable in the Word of God. The church is not a lot of hype or the latest trend. They love God and love people and have a desire for people to know Him more.
Digital Sparks: My experience at St. Marys Cathedral Basilica on Galveston Island was truly uplifting. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a sense of peace and reverence that immediately set the tone for the service.
The beauty of the cathedrals architecture and interior design added to the spiritual atmosphere, creating a sacred space for worship and reflection. As I participated in the Mass, I was struck by the sincerity of the congregation and the warmth of their welcome. It was evident that St. Marys Cathedral Basilica is not just a place of worship, but also a community of faith where all are embraced and valued.
The service itself was beautifully conducted, with reverence and devotion evident in every aspect. The music, prayers, and readings all contributed to a profound sense of connection with the divine. It was a truly enriching experience that left me feeling spiritually nourished and uplifted.
I have come to look forward to attending Mass at St. Marys Cathedral Basilica whenever I visit Galveston Island. The sense of belonging and the genuine hospitality extended by the congregation make it a truly special place of worship.
Cynthia Hernandez: So beautiful! With all its ornate details. The Bishops Palace (currently under renovations) is across the street on one side of Sacred Heart Church, and across a little street on the other side of the Church there is a tiny park with a white picket fence around it that has a brick path in the shape of a Rosary that circles around a shrine of the Blessed Mother Mary. Theres nothing else but a bench in the little park. It was peaceful and nice to see in addition to the Church and Palace.
