5 /5 Sally Lair: Texas Garage is a great place to do business. They are honest about the car repair needed. We had an old truck with about 300,000 miles on it that we kept trying to repair. When it was towed to Texas Garage, S.D. (the owner) did diagnostics on the truck and gave us his honest and professional opinion about the direction we needed to go. He helped us realize that we needed to let the truck go unless we wanted to gamble on spending a great deal of money on it, and soon, even after it was repaired. We really appreciated his honesty. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Texas Garage.

Lauren Hickmott: We were charged $350 to get a new battery and have the oil changed. We asked for a quote on how much it would cost to fix the heater, and told them specifically that would be something we would have to budget in and not to do any work on it. When we got our bill, we saw they charged us $45 for labor to diagnose the problem with the heater. When my husband asked them about this and reminded them that we had said not to do any work on it, she said that they did not do any work. He had specifically told them we were on a budget and that was not a priority right now. If they were going to charge us a diagnostic fee, they should have asked us first. They also charged $45 to diagnose that the battery needed to be replaced. Once again, we were not aware of the diagnostic fee. I understand having diagnostic fees, I just wish they would have been upfront about it and asked us first.

Rick Uhlig: Ive taken my truck to other shops and thought I was getting treated fairly but Vance at Howells automotive did everything he could to keep the price as low as possible, he explained what needed to be done by showing me the areas that he would fix and even sent pictures of the work in progress. He only uses quality parts, no cheap stuff that will only last a short time and gave me the option of choosing which parts according to what I could afford. In short he works with you and keeps you informed on what he is doing. I know where my vehicles with get service from now on. Thanks Vance for helping me out when I really was in a tight spot

I was so concerned about my car, he not only reassured me that all was well, but when I suggested other things be done he did NOT take advantage of me although he couldve. He simply did what was necessary and was HONEST!! My grandmother and I will never go anywhere else. Its hard to come by a car business that cares about the customer, not just the bill! I am now a believer, you can actually trust someone is this area of car care. ALSO, his mechanic stopped what he was doing just to listen to my concerns and didnt make me feel stupid or like I was imposing like many places I have been. THANK YOU GUYS!!

There was no one working in the office. So I poked my head in the shop to let one of the mechanics know I was here. A man rolled his eyes and came over to me. He was very annoyed. He asked what I wanted. I told him I need some help with my car. He very rudely snapped back “help? Like what?” I said I needed my car repaired but there was no one to ask about it in the office. He snarked and said “well, we don’t work in the office.” So I left. I will take my business elsewhere.

Jesus Flores: Terrible place to get your oil changed! I took my Honda Odyssey for an oil change to Meineke on Tuesday, November 26th. The next day I back out of my garage and find a huge oil leak underneath my van. Mind you, I had just had my oil pan replaced in my van in July 2024. I paid $500 to get the oil pan replaced at a different shop. The reason I replaced the oil pan is because I was about to move into a brand new house and I didn’t want my van to be dripping oil onto my brand new garage floor. Now, thanks to Meineke I have a huge oil stain on my brand new garage floor. Anyway, I take my van back to Meineke so they can fix the leak. They get it on the lift and tell me that the oil drain bolt hadn’t been tightened properly. They tighten the bolt and send me on my way. Well, guess what?! Two days later and my van is still leaking oil. It’s not as bad anymore, but it’s still dripping. I think they stripped my oil drain bolt and they don’t want to admit it. I’m going back today to see what they say this time.
