3 /5 cesar marin: So I was admitted to this hospital under NGRI commitment for 4 years . The food quality is not the best. The staff can be good. But some have a power complex. If you have a medical issue. They have to set up an appointment with the med clinic. Only to be sent out to a contract clinic. Sometimes the proper paperwork is not in the folder they send you with. The hospital staff is always short staffed. Meaning its hard for patients to get their needs meet. Covid protocol is not always taken seriously. Caught covid-19 due to a staff ignorance about them being sick. They still come to work. And then they cant tell you who you came in contact with/ exposed you to it. Because of staffing shortage. They dont have a covid unit like they used to. They just isolate a hole unit usually 24 patient capacity. And let everyone catch covid. Joint commission comes around and all of the sudden their scary. They start making policy changes. And when you ask to see the policy. They say they arent allowed to show patients policy that directly affects their every day life.
Some people spend more than a the average stay which is 2-3 years. And things are always changing. Its not a stable environment for psychiatric help. It fells more like a test whether youll make it or break your sanity in the process. They do offer good rehabilitation programs. Like the art department, the music department, the library, peer support, a small but effective physical fitness room. They could really use a certified physical trainer. Who can actually recommend things based on your weight , endurance and nutritional needs. Also have a female staff and a male at all time in the room. When I left their was only a male staff. Also the on unit rehabilitation staff is awesome and if you do your part. They will help make your stay be less miserable. Any questions just feel free to shot me a message.
