5 /5 G Smith-Lyle: Pastors Gabe and Amanda are amazing leaders. Their desire to love and minister to others is apparent. The teachings are biblical with sound doctrine, worship is amazing and the leadership of Impact are genuine. If you’re new to Paris, this is a great church to belong.

3 /5 Daniel Gennaro: I didn’t have a great experience with impact unfortunately,… maybe I’ll try again. I went to service three times and I even went to a potluck they had at someone’s house with bay rides and bounce houses. I met some nice families and individuals. I only give three stars in a constructive input to your leadership, as I found it kind of upsetting that the pastor never once engaged me in conversation. I seen him several times, introduced myself to him and even saw him at the potluck. Not once did he try to get to know me. I feel for such a small church it would be important to notice those who are new and engage with them. That’s just me though. I think he did a great job delivering a message and worship was nice and comfortable. Not to be critical but this is my experience and why I didn’t come back. God bless

5 /5 Wear Family: Looking for a place to feel the Holy Spirit move through the congregation. Amazing music and great teaching. The Pastor and his wife love to love on the people of the church. You feel welcomed from the moment you walk up to the first greeter. You want a place to go where there is no judgement, a place where the people are the hands and feet of the church. Then give Impact a shot.

First United Methodist Church - paris - Paris

Bruce K.: This building looks more like a courthouse than a church, but it is indeed the First United Methodist Church of Paris. It was built in 1922 and added to the National Register in 1983. It is a Colonial/Mediterranean Revival style. The marker reads, "The beginning of this congregation can be traced to 1843, when the Rev. James Graham organized the First Methodist Church in the area. It later took the name Centenary Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Meanwhile, another congregation, Lamar Avenue Methodist Church, was formed. After the destructive Paris fire of 1916, the two churches decided to form one central downtown congregation, and the merger became official in 1918. The Rev. Robert P. Shuler was appointed first pastor of the new congregation, now known as First United Methodist Church of Paris." This is marker number 8196 and it was erected in 1985 by the Texas Historical Commission. There is a large parking lot across the street and another behind. But on a Tuesday afternoon, the church was secured and I was unable to see the interior.
