1 /5 laura bowlin: ER staff are worthless. I went to the emergency room with right flank pain, excruciating RT FLANK PAIN, nausea, vomiting and sharp pain in my chest. I vomited twice in the triage room and collapsed in the door way of the examination room and my mother, all 90lbs of her, had to help me up. The staff administered morphine for pain, which made me sick, and zophran for N/V. No bitals were taken post pain med admin, no labs were drawn, no IV or hep lock, no urine sample taken, I mean this is "kidney pain", and vitals taken once, as I was signing release papers, of course still struggling in extreme pain. Due to the pain I was unable to sit still for the first CT, which seemed to irritate the ER nurse. The Dr saw me twice to confirm I did not have kidney stones, which I knew this and tried to explain in the triage room.
My point is this, "kidney" pain and I mean KINDNEY PAIN!!!! Not one attempt to check for a UTI or kidney infection, no vitals and no pain relief.
Even if you or a loved one is dying I would drive the 30 something miles to Madisonville or Palestine. These people will let you die if it cuts into their gossip time. Oh yeah, I could hear them talking about me at the nurses desk, VERY unprofessional.
